CULT TV FESTIVAL 2006
After 12 years away, the 13th Annual Cult TV Festival will go back to where it all began, the Seacroft Holiday Village, Hemsby, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK. Like many ex-Pontin's sites, Seacroft is under new management. New Horizon Holidays have already made huge investments in upgrading the facilities, and will be continuing to do so over the years to come. Check out the latest news by visiting www.cult.tv
The bars are new, many of the chalet blocks have been knocked down and completely rebuilt, the audio systems are pristine, and the entire kitchen has been completely re-equipped for the 21st Century. It really is like meeting up with an old friend who has had a sensational makeover!
The dates for your diary next year, as advertised at the beginning of this September in our newsletter, are 20th - 23th October 2006. Bookings are now being taken online, via the CULT TV SHOP at www.CultTV.biz - please do pop over there and take advantage of the special offer of £10.00 off per adult registration made before 28 February 2006. Children 10-15 Years Old get £5.00 off during this offer period as well!
This year's first objective was to find a venue that had a range of accommodation standards to suit all budgets and requirements.
We've done it. As you'll see below, there's a range of four standards at different prices and styles to suit all tastes and pockets.
The second objective was to find a venue that was prepared to offer some accommodation without a single occupancy premium.
Again, we've done it. The only sting in the tail is that we can only offer this for a limited time on the ECONOMY level of on-site accommodation, but that's another incentive to book up as soon as we make bookings available online in a few days' time.
The third objective was to find a venue that was again near the seaside, as some regular attendees miss getting the vibe (and rock...) that comes with such a location.
Again, consider this done. While not directly on the shoreline, it's not far. We also have the benefit of being nearly a month earlier in the calendar than when we first visited Seacroft in 1994. We hope that this will make the odds of having much more decent weather than the first time we went there much better.
The final objective was to find a venue that really wants to help make the Cult TV Festival grow and thrive, assisting with publicity and having a mailing list that we can be included in on.
Every year we have tried to get something like this arranged, with varying degrees of success. However, for the first time ever, a venue has volunteered to include leaflets for the Cult TV Festival in one of their mailshots to their regular customers – a spectacular 4,000 addresses. We did not even get around to asking for this, it made so much sense to them, and it looks like we finally have a venue that wants to help generate business with us!
Nostalgia will take centre stage on this gig, as the next Festival already has a feeling to it that we are going home. Over the 12 years we have been away, we have learned a great deal about staging a themed holiday break – it has to be said that back in 1994 our naivety was only rescued by the sheer breakneck enthusiasm of the production team that worked that first event. And the venue has already got into the spirit of things by putting in place a 24 hour bar. Yes, you did read that right!
The usual registration rates for Cult TV 2006 will be £99.00 per adult, £49.00 per child aged 10-15 years. Children 9 Years and below are Free (but no more than 2 children per adult please). That’s right, we've frozen the registration prices for 2006! But don't forget to take advantage of the money-off offer that's available until 28 February 2006.
There are four standards of accommodation to choose from - decide which one best suits your budget and your requirements. The prices quoted are per person, and include three nights' bed, breakfast and evening meal – divide by three to work out what the cost is per night - which brings it down to prices being from less than £27.00 per night for bed, breakfast, AND evening meal. All room options come with colour TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. These prices are in addition to the registration cost, which does not include food and accommodation.

If you wish to opt for Single Occupancy only, please note that Economy is the only option without a supplement for this, and will be issued on a first-come first-served basis, subject to availability.

As ever, the sooner you book, the more chance you have of getting exactly what you want at the best possible price. Besides, if you're going to organise a themed holiday break, what better location could there be than a seaside holiday village?
