Except B5 had a much better storyline than DS9 did, in fact they had to copy B5 once again with the arcing storyline as a last ditch attempt to save the show..

JMS has penned some stinkers though, Crusade and Legends of the Rangers spring to mind, although I'm not sure how much of that was JMS losing the plot and how much was network incompetence..

JMS has admitted he was totally burned out when he did Crusade, he had just completed what may still be the record for writing consecutive hours of TV drama, and was forced into creating a new cast and arc, which is something that happened organically on B5.

Not sure what the excuse for LOTR was (not THAT LOTR), because that was unbelievably terrible.

His work on Jeremiah, whilst often unremarkable, it was a rather unremarkable world to write about anyway, was much more solid and occasionally showed the B5 flare. His recent comics writing has been inventive, so maybe he just needs a new place to play.

Yeah, perhaps he just needed a rest..
