OK then not too worried about the location ... but initial thoughts are those dates are now going to clash with something else
Looks like I'll probably end up doing the same Jola, although just to be sure that dates don't change on my other weekend out I'll hold onto the tickets as long as possible

I will probably be after a refund as well. That line-up does not jusitfy a move of location of 300 miles.
Well I'll have to move Sanctuary back a week but the location is better for me...It's only an hour or so away by car.
At last things are moving up north again!!

wow that place (norbreck) they need a big guest to fill that place, i'm feeling mr Anderson himself. god i need money! i wanna go!
It's a bold move making so large a change. I see on their site that they say they couldn't find a suitable hotel in London - know how that feels - we searched long and hard for the one we have, and I still don't know 100% if we made the right choice, or if we should have considered moving out of the capital. In the end we felt we had promised everyone that it would be in London, so we stuck with that. Wolf have gone with the feeling that they wanted to get a hotel they were 100% happy with for the event and the fans, even if it meant a big geographical shift. Each choice made with the fans in mind; time will tell which one of us made the correct decision.
Well, speaking as a London gal..... I go with Stuarts decision.
On a more serious note though, yes, I can understand the reasoning behind Wolf's choice but surely there are other hotels in the UK that are maybe more in the middle?
There are loads of hotels near me that are nice enough and large enough in Croydon, Surrey or even Kent, all of which easily accessible?

Due to the what looks like un-neccessary date change, I have to consider this event cancelled. The person I travel with to cut costs can not make it due to her family being out of the country that weekend, they were returning just in time for the original dates.
Because you cant go its cancelled

Quiet a bad weekend to pick Blackpool really the iluminations are still up and its halfterm weekend.
Effectively, yes (in my opinion). The location for the guest line up is wrong, the line justifies about 1000 attendees tops. That venue is for over 3000. If it is a half-term weekend it means traffic will be worse and it rules out many other people going. Anyway, I can not go anymore myself and I know many others can not so for us it is effectively cancelled.

I got it but I'm sure VT means personally cancelled for him - not the event

I've got no problem from my point of view with the change of location, its the dates that are a bigger problem Although at least in London its easier to travel down for a long day ... in blackpool I'd definitely have to book a hotel so the guests would have to be better to swing it.
alot of times from what i've gathered off convention people, there may be hotels that could hold cons but they very often don't want to. no matter how much you tell them they'll make money they don't want the 'stigma' of being a con hotel. its only after they've held a con that they realise how MUCH money they make on say the bar takings alone.then they're more than happy to hold cons!
heres hoping the new venues of both Staurts and Wolfs are good desisions

I'm not sure if the hotel being used for Eclipse in London has held conventions before but I know the Blackpool one is used quite regularly.
yeah i've been to the norbreck afew times, and i love the place!! great for a weekend by the sea! except this is in october and.....yeesh, not so good. ah well. if i can get the money together i might still go.
as for the Eclipse hotel, its new and it may be good, well have to see. i dont think they've had this type of con, but they have facilities for conventions/conferences so hopefully they'll know what to expect
i'm looking forward to it anyhoo!
