Warrior's Trial
Summary: Winsor's path of destruction begins in earnest.
Placing the scalpel down on the table as he took a step back, Windsor admired his work. A beautiful Celtic design that heÂ’d found in a book, carved into the chest of a young woman. It had taken him days and many different women to find the right chest, but eventually heÂ’d found a young woman, around 18 years old, that had just the right chest for him to create his masterpiece on.
WindsorÂ’s art had become quite notorious during his stay in Sunnydale. He would find a piece of art, then search for a suitable victim. When he found the right one, he took them back to his apartment and began his work. When he finished he would display them for everyone to see.
He was biding his time at the moment, staying away from the Slayer, but watching from a distance. Ultimately, what he was going to do would break the slayer down emotionally. He would destroy everything she held dear to her and present it to her in a way that she would never forget. When he had finished, she would be so emotionally devastated that she would not be able to fight off a fly, let alone Windsor himself.

“We can’t let him carry on like this!” said Buffy angrily, still not quite over the sight she had witnessed the night before.
“I quite agree, but we can’t do anything until we establish where he is operating from. This Windsor has proved to be very good at hiding from us,” replied Giles, in a calm voice that he hoped would help calm Buffy down too.
The night before, while patrolling, Buffy had come across WindsorÂ’s latest piece of art. He had strung the young girl up naked from a lamppost in the park. Buffy thought somebody must have seen it before she did, but nobody had reported it to the Police until Buffy phoned them herself. In their ignorance the Police were looking for the killer, but she knew they would never find him. She couldnÂ’t find him herself.
You should patrol tonight,” noted Giles as he sat down to look at a new book.
“Unless you have something more important to attend to?” he added as he looked up and saw the expression on Buffy’s face.
“I was supposed to be going round to Willow’s to do some of that study stuff,” she replied weakly, knowing that she really should patrol.
“Well I’m sorry, but with Windsor running round loose you really should patrol every night,”
“Yeah, ok…I’ll patrol,” said Buffy, in a resigned tone that Giles instantly recognised as meaning Buffy wasn’t happy, but would do her duty.

“Buffy always has to patrol when we are supposed to be studying,” thought Willow to herself as she made her way to Xander’s house.
“I know this Windsor guy is dangerous and all, but she could have one night off, couldn’t she?” she added in her head, knowing fully that Windsor was perhaps one of the most dangerous vampire’s they had faced and that Buffy really did have to patrol.
Taking a short cut through the park, she thought maybe she might see Buffy but she hadn't done so far. In fact, she hadn't seen much of anything. No people, no animals, no nothing. It gave her a rather spooky feeling, like maybe something had scared everything away but she was half way through the park now and turning back would be a waste of time.

Moving through the bushes, Windsor smiled as he thought about what he was about to do. The first step in his destruction of the slayer was about to be put in motion and it hinged on the redheaded girl he had followed from the school library where she had been speaking with the slayer. He knew they were friends and she would make a perfect weapon to use against the slayer. Following her had been easy, and now he was about to make his move against her.
Jumping out from behind the bush that concealed him, Windsor grabbed the girl by the shoulders and before she could even scream, he pierced her neck with his fangs, draining some of the blood that tasted oh-so sweet.
“Step one complete,” mused Windsor to himself with a wicked grin as he made a cut on his wrist and pressed it to the girl’s mouth.
