I think I was 14 when my parents first let me watch Rocky Horror and I loved the music then and still love it now

I have the dvd and one of the better versions of the soundtrack.

I've only been to one of the live shows in Cambridge a few years back (and yes I dressed up!!) and whilst I can't remember who played the lead I do remember that he mimicked Tim Curry very well. There were a few guys behind us with all the props (rubber gloves, playing cards etc) having a ball Afterwards fancying a drink we followed the majority of fishnet wearers to the nearest pub and the reaction on the locals faces was classic

The only other time was at the N2K convention in 2000 when the Sunday party had a Rocky Horror theme

Totally love the film. camp and kitch are such a good combination. Throw Tim Curry into the mix and we have genius! (See Clue! for further proof)

Have seen it live with school (!?!)but we had awful seats. That was when it had Parkinson and some guy from Bad Boys Inc and someone semi famous who i can't remember as Frankenfurter. It was a riot. have been to many fancy dress parties with a Rocky Horror theme and they've all been a great laugh.

The only thing i'd like to do is star in a stage version as magenta - how cool would that be

Its all great fun, Tim Curry is fab and a young Susan Sarandon runs around in her underwear - is see no bad here

I saw it live in Cardiff a few years ago, where Robin Cousins wasn't nearly as bad a franknfurter as he could have been. I dressed up as Magenta

Film sucks ... stage show rocks

In spite of that though, I really couldn't see myself enjoying this sort of thing.

Oooh, just seen this thread! I absolutely adore the film. I haven't seen the stage show, but I would really, really love to.

I've been to a few Rocky Horror parties and screenings though, which were very cool. Only dressed up once, and not as a specific character we all just dressed in drag. I've thought about dressing up as Eddie, though I'd need to put on a bit of weight!

The Prince Charles cinema in London used to show it every Friday night along with some sort of live show-type thing. I always meant to go but they stopped doing them before I got my act together. Grrrrrr.

Personally I'd have thought you'd make a better Riff-Raff than an Eddie. Actually, come to think of it, you'd probably make a better Columbia or Janet than you would Eddie, ya skinny little runt.

As for the stage show being better than the film, I don't really see it. It's two different experiences, and the film was completely controlled by the original writers, to the point of forgoing a decent budget so that they could retain casting and script control. It also has the definitive performance by Tim Curry on it. It is, in my less than humble one, faultless.

As for those unfortunates that cannot see the fun in the cheesy, camp and overly kitsch, you have my sympathies. Whether you want them or not.

Although my sister had a Rocky Horror party once and she went as Columbia. The resemblance was uncanny!

Rocky Horror -
I've got the video, and I've seen it 5 times - and I'd go again tomorrow (if it was on!)
I'm deffo up for a meet/outing.

Great music, great script, fantastic costumes, dancing in the aisles, shooting water pistols, cat calling - it's adult pantomime of the highest calibre!

one of the times I went the guy who played Jonathon from Bread was playing Frank - he was pretty good, and very cute

I first saw it last year, and i love it!!! It was tv a coupla months ago so i taped it...sometimes it's cool just to listen to it wihtout actually watching the movie, course buying the soundtrack would make this easier

I used to have anthony stewart head singing Sweet Transvisite on my computer, but it got deleted.

The guy that plays Frank n Furter in the movie is the professeur in Scary movie 2, and the voice of the dad in the wild Thornberries...theres my useless trivia for the day

Rocky horror rocks

I first saw the film a couple of years ago...I had just found out that Tony Head had been in the stage show and I have no idea what it was about...so I hunted everywhere and evntually found a copy of the film in the library.

I LOVED it !!! It was mostly the music that I liked...it took me a little while to get used to the whole basque and suspenders thing, but I got there in the end !

I now have 4 copies of the soundtrack (including a complete recording of Tony Head in the Picadilly theatre!) I think I went slightly mad on the music !

Haven't seen it on stage yet..hoping to rectify that with Jayjay's meet

The RHPS Fan Club has a big scoop for all its devoted followers.

In Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the birth of "Rocky" (when Richard was writing the original play)...Lou Adler and Twentieth Century Fox will shortly announce a huge broadcast television event for February
2003.... A remake of the Rocky Horror Picture show with an all-new celebrity cast.
What makes this more exciting is that the director of this project will be Stephen Elliot who directed the much beloved "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" and the cult classic "Welcome to Woop-Woop"".
Casting will be going underway soon and we will keep you informed of all updates.
