Favourite Movie Scene?
I can't remember if it has been done before or not. Tough if it has
Mine? The scene in The Fast and the Furious where Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are out test driving the new Toyota Supra and they go head to head with the Ferrari and wipe the floor with it. (Oh, and there's been enough drooling over Vin Diesel in the other thread...it can stay there )
What's your favourite scene? At first hearing about TFATF I thought it was gonna be another boring car flick (Saying that though, I did quit like Gone in 60 Seconds). However upon seeing it at the cinema I fell in love with it. If ever I could lay my hands on a Toyota Supra like that, I'd die a happy man.
(And yes, the Paul Walker film? We like the film with Paul Walker in it. Cos I heard that the film with Paul Walker in it was good cos Paul Walker was in it. Sorry, private joke )
EDIT - Uhoh, it would appear I may have put this in the wrong forum...

Best movie scene? The Map Room scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark. When the music starts to rise as the sun creeps over the model, and hits that crescendo (do I mean crescendo?) as the light comes through the jewel and sends the beam down.
Action, lighting and music, all tied together perfectly. An incredible moment: Liquid cinema, to borrow a phrase form Alan Partridge.

Drama - Picard and Lily's arguement in 'First Contact'. Take away all sci-fi, history and everything else, it remains not only a powerful scene, but a bloody good acting moment.
Comedy - When Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton are plummeting down the building, in a window cleaners carriage (or what ever you call it) in 'the First Wives Club'.

Same film different part I love the chase after the Ark in the truck from the desert.

Pure classic action, the whole films just class
Ooh, I have so many favourites...
Action - The Thames boat chase in The World Is Not Enough.
Drama - The scene in Leon where Matilda comes back from the shop to find her family have been killed.
Comedy - Gary Oldman as Zorg showing the features of a new weapon in The Fifth Element.
I'll stop now

Ooh, I love that one, best Bond beginning ever. Hell, best beginning to an action movie ever. The only good thing the Dome has ever done is be used as a giant safety net

Fave scene has to be the massive battle at the start of Transformers The Movie, it's just amaising. You got the touch you go the power ahhhhhhhh du du du du du the tune is just so cool and i think I'll stop typing now......sorry
In Back to future, the bit where Marty is escaping from Biff using the skateboard. Or the end of the Usual Suspects.
I have loads as well. But, to be a little different, two that stand out in my mind aren't exactly 'enjoyable' but they are certainly powerful in my mind, and therefore, faves of mine:-
1) The opening D Day landing scene in Saving Private Ryan
2) The liquidation of the ghetto in Schindler's List

"Enter The Dragon".. the scene in the "mirror room".. classic stuff
"Lethal Weapon".. the "Do ya really wanna jump?" scene.. cracks me up every time
"Lord of the Rings"... Frodo telling the hobbits to get off the road... and the scene after it. And when he's stabbed and also when the Wraiths are chasing him when Arwen is taking him to Rivendell ("If you want him, then come and claim him!" )

To Ethans comment...mmmmm Vin
Now onto the question. Fave movie scene, i have a few, all time fave though is:
The Crow - Towards the end where Eric is leaning on a post from a building and kids are running up to him with torches and they are shining on his face. He starts to laugh and smile as the camera does a slow motion sequence. It has me in tears.
Moulin Rouge The Roxanne tango number, Ewans voice goes great with the Argentinians.. my sweet Ewan.
Boiler Room Where 'Ben Affleck' is pitching to the new recruits and to quote the man Kevin Smith himself 'he has a potty mouth'
The Full Monty The dole que sequence where they are all dancing.

This is really difficult. these are the ones that i always seem to go back and watch again.
Almost Famous: After the massive argument, when everyone's on the tour bus and they all start singing Tiny Dancer.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: the fight scene between Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi. very nicely directed.
erm, i really can't think of anything else at the moment.

Last of the Mohicans - in the battle/ambush after the british surrender to the French and Hawkeye sees a Huron grab Cora, and surges forward in a blind rage.
Then at the end as Uncas and Magua are fighting and Hawkeye is chasing up the path to the rescue..........well actually the whole movie is just brilliant.
And Leon - any scene with Jean Reno especially the final scene with Gary Oldman "zees ees from Matilda" KERBOOOM!!!!!
OOH and any scene with Chow Yun Fat - coolness personified

All of the movie "HEAT" especially the "coffee shop scene" which now is more poignant than ever.
Most (but by no means all) of the stuff in any of the Star Wars movies.
The bit in the Matrix where Keanu stops the bullets with a simple "No"

Hmmm - have you seen LA Takedown?
It was Michael Mann's original TV movie/shooting script for Heat.
I though the ending of that was far better than the silly airport chase at the end of Heat - I truly hate airport chases - the only one that's any good is Into The Night, with Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Beg to differ. For me, that's got to be the first gunfight in the tea shop in Hard Boiled. First John Woo film I ever saw, was left breathless by it, along with the thought that that was just the start, not the climax! As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, Chow Yun-Fat is coolness personified. Just don't start trying to count how many rounds everybody fires without reloading...

Other candidates:
Generally, any action scene by John Woo, especially from his Hong Kong period with the exceptions of Hard Target and Mission Impossible 2...
Final fight between Jet Li/Wong Fei-Hung and the evil cult leader in Once Upon A Time In China 2. Spectacular wirework kung fu at its best.
Also second the nomination for the fight between Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi where MY works her way through her entire selection of weapons in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Yuen Woo Ping is a genius.
The lobby scene in The Matrix, another superb bit of choreography by Yuen Woo Ping.
One last one - absolutely insane chainsaw duel (!) between Conan Lee and Gordon Liu in Tiger On The Beat. All the more impressive, given the notorious lack of safety standards for Hong Kong film stunts...
Heh. You'd never guess I was a Hong Kong action cinema fan, would you?

I got some new ones, although my old ones still stand.
Trainspotting I have two fave scenes in this one, the first is where Tommy makes them go for a walk and Renton sits on the bridge shouting about what its like being Scottish. (Wont say anymore as its full of swearing but if you've seen it you know the one I mean) The second is where Rents and Sickboy are in the park shooting a dog with something to make it attack its owner. The conversation that goes on between them, in James Bond style.
Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets When Harry and Ron are Crab and Goyle and Harry still has his glasses on, telling Draco he was reading. A classic timed reply of 'I didn't know you could read' That kid pulls some good looks in the movie!
And well done Ming on bringing back to life a dead thread

Yep I saw the TV Movie and again I really enjoyed it, but I personally think it pales in comparison to HEAT, mainly through budget restrictions which affect everything from locations to casting.

I think an airport is a s good a place for a chase scene as any, and think that the openness of the airfield is necessary to the cold distance/ambience that the director was trying to capture in the final scenes.
