Yeah I quite enjoyed it. The dragon effects were great.

Thought Matthew McConaughey's Nutty American was great and I did you also spot Alex Siddig (Dr Bashir from Star Trek DS9).

One thing from the reviews I agreed with was that it would be nice to see the intial attacks of the dragons.

Hey maybe we can have a prequel

I went in expecting little.

Dragons I asked. Give me dragons, and I shall be satisfied.

And yay, there were dragons. And they rocked.

I enjoyed Reign of Fire, although I suspect it could have been spoiled by expecting too much. The acting was even pretty good, and there were some very nice moments, like the reaction shot when the helicopter arrives, and the first dragon-slaying, with the Americans and their tech, and the English with a bird and a horse.

Oh yeah, and dragons of course.

I agree that it might have been nice to see the burning, maybe over the credits, especially since it's on the trailers and the posters and stuff. Maybe they're saving it fr the DVD release.

Hopefully! The poster rocked but I'm glad that I already knew that scene wasn't in the film as I'd have been annoyed otherwise.

Yeah, he looks good. I don't usually go for beards but there's something about him... not seen him in anything else either so no idea what he looks like without the fuzz!

I went in not expecting much either, but i really enjoyed it! I thought that the dragon effects were really good.

However, I agree that there should have been more made out of the initial attacks by the dragons.

I'd wanted to see the film ever since i was in Dublin walking past a cinema where they were rolling out the red carpet (literally!) for the European premiere. Didn't get to see Christian Bale though *sob*

I believe (i could be wrong) the film that got him recognised was American Psycho (written by Ellis something i've read the book its REALLY sick) and then he played bad guy in Shaft (i wont even begin to go into what i thought of THAT film ) lol

I think it was American Psycho he got known for recently, but he is also very good as the kid in Speilbergs adaption of Empire of the Sun (as i recall. Its 3 hours long and i havent watched it in years)

Christian Bale has been in shed loads of indie and low budget stuff - he's kinda like and american Christopher Eccleston - only more attractive

Oh and he was the kid in Empire of the Sun!!

Reign of Fire - I really enjoyed. I didn't really have any expectations as I didn't hear any reviews or the like before we went in. Just the thoughts of 'dragons - cool'

I think it could have been better, special effects have moved on sooooo much since that black line around the person who is really in fron tof a blue screen, and yet there they were in the really good bits of a film that had great potential. Maybe the remake in 20 years will be more impressive!

I thought the whole background to the story was great though, the setting and everything

A fun film, but if you're the type that goes to see a film to rip it apart rather than going to enjoy it, be prepared.

Especially if they can genetically engineer a few dragons.. it'd come in handy for Harry Potter remakes too

I wouldn't mind seeing this, might investigate it nect time I have the chance thanks to the comments above.

Also, after seeing the track on Kerrang it has a couple of good songs on the soundtrack. Mad Gravity did a song for it called 'Walk Away' which had a load of shots from the movie, so if that's anything to go by then it looks good so far.
