I don't like the idea of it anyway, sounds like they're going to Scooby it, and I don't think that'll work *at all*

I can't see a Feature-length Garfield story working at all. He's supposed to be a lazy cat who eats and sleeps all day, only taking time out to make cutting remarks about Jon and Odie.

They'll probably have them going camping in the woods (or similar) and then Garfield and Odie will get lost, have an adventure, end up in the pound and then make it safely home to Jon's loving arms. Knowing TV Producers I'm sure they can stretch that out over an hour and twenty minutes.
If they do make one, I bet a lot of adults will go and see it, as it is more our generation's cartoon than kids today.

yeah we'll go an see it just to prove to ourselves that they'll prolly ruin it. i liked scooby doo live action but then i had no expectations.
They ruined Garfield it when they put into 2-D (and the voice was the same guy that did the ghostbusters cartoon) the books rocked.

cartoons may be your generation Faith5by5 but the books were mine... god i feel old!

I'm hating this idea before it even starts, I was a MASSIVE Garfield fan as a kid and sometimes I dig out the books for a giggle (and peeps wonder why I'm so sarcastic )
If they "Scooby Doo" this movie I'm gonna drag Jim Davis out into the street like a rabid dog and shoot him in the head... having said that, is he not dead yet?

Scooby Doo has been a bit of a flop judging by how cheap the DVD and Video are now to buy at £12-£13 for the DVD, compared to Spiderman which did brilliantly and is in most shops at £17-£19.

Surely,(Please God!!!) they will have recognised that what they did was not so hot, and not do it again.

A Garfield film??? A little aprehensive about this one. If they do a similar kind of thing to what they did with Scooby, then it might be a disaster...

The voice has been found. And, actually, it makes me just an ickle bit more eager to see this now

Bill Murray has signed on to provide the voice for Garfield in the upcoming film version of the popular comic strip.

Garfield is expected to be done in CGI, while everyone else in the movie (including Odie and Nermal) is expected to be real. Odie and Nermal will have CGI mouths though.

The visual effects team has some good form too, credits include - X2, Godzilla, Contact, Hollow Man, Reign of Fire, Daredevil, Scooby-Doo, Cats & Dogs, How the Grinch Stole Christmas..

So hopefully they should be able to pull off Garfield to good effect
