Labyrinth
Fantasy Movies
I'm really in a fantasy mood right now. So, can people just tell me any and all fantasy movies I don't know about. This is an odd request, but when I get in moods, there's no stopping me. Here is the ones I know of:
Lord of the Rings
Willow
Legend
a wierd movie will Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges
The Dark Crystal
any more?
I guess fantasy movies aren't that popular

How about Jabberwocky? Or Monty Python and the Holy Grail?
Or Jason and the Argonauts? Shrek? The Sword and the Sorceror? The Sword in the Stone?
And Never Ending Story seems to fit to me, along with the sequals.
Krull, Hawk the Slayer and Beastmaster are all kinda fun, but Legend, Labyrinth and Dark Crystal are by far the best of the bunch (putting Twin Towers aside, you understand...).
I'm also presuming by Fantasy you mean the whole Sword and Sorcery Epic Quest stuff?
Clash of the Titans?
Time Bandits?
Harry Potter?
Does Highlander count?
I'm sure there are loads more. Some of them may even be good, but unfortunately fantasy films are often dreadful. You could always check out the Prophet's Bad Movie Mecca for some of the bad ones

I was going to say woo-hoo! I'm famous, but then I saw it was my dear sister posting the link.

There's a whole slew of turgid fantasy 'epics' that were covered by MST3K; like Outlaw of Gor (a sequel to Gor). Then there's the Deathstalker series (never seen any of them, but people on the IMDb seem to argue incessently about the relative quality of the films, and/or the cleavage of the leading actress), Wizards of the Lost Kingdom (poor even by Hawk the Slayer standards), and many other "classics" from the dark and dismal corners of Spanish 'B' cinema.
The IMDb 'Fantasy' keyword section is here, for starters, although that's pretty vague and includes a lot of 'soft' SF. The top of the list is also all TV series, because the IMDb puts quote marks around TV series titles, bumping them to the top of the alphabet.
There's also a whole lot of fantasy wuxia out there:
Xu: Warriors from the Magic Mountian
Legend of Fong-Sai Yuk (1&2)
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Stormriders
Of course, many of these aren't worth your time, especially Stormriders, which is a kung fu movie with no kung fu; just a bunch of flashy FX and a whole load of characters that you can only hate and/or despise.

Oh I'm so STUPID!!! I knew so many of those, I own half of them, what is wrong with my brain??? Thanks for the posts, by the way, I am greatful, just feel really silly now
These are the one's I don't know and would like opinions on are:
Hawk the Slayer
The Princess Bride
Dungeons and Dragons
Time Bandits
Kull the Conquear
Beastmaster
Personally, Jabberwocky/Holy Grail I wouldn't count as fantasy. I was thinking more film than cartoon. That said, the 'Secret of Nimh' (possible spelling) is excellent, defeinatly watch it.
Also, I remembered the Lady Hawk (a classic with Ms Pfieffer) and all the Sinbads (best avoid). Oh, and an old movie, called the Green Wizard or comething, it might have had Christopher Lee in, not sure....

Hawk the Slayer...well, it's terrible. I mean, it's really bad. Dungeons & Dragons is likewise not the best movie in the world, although it makes more sense with the DVD deleted scenes and alternate ending. Kull the Conqueror is utterly, utterly silly, and storming fun besides.

All three have bad movie reviews, as linked to above, although be warned that there are spoilers.
Beastmaster is also rubbish, but I haven't got around to reviewing it yet, since that would mean watching it again.
On the other hand, The Princess Bride is God's gift to the moviegoing public. It is absolutely brilliant; as good as Hawk is bad. Time Bandits is...well, it's a Terry Gilliam comedy, so if you like that kind of thing (and I do) you'll love it.
Oh, and I note that you have Ladyhawke and the Ray Harryhausen Sinbads the wrong way around, since no-one should have to sit through a fantasy film with a score by the Alan Parsons Project, but any film with a stop-motion sabretooth tiger in it is worth the rental fee.
Ah, curses, I was going to say that one.

Lady Hawk (a classic with Ms Pfieffer)
You've still forgotten Dragonslayer, though. We had it on video a long time ago... one with crossdressing girl avoiding being a virgin sacrifice by dressing as a boy....etc.
And Dragonheart, but, you know, fair enough.
Is the Princess Bride the one with Columbo narrating to his grandson?
That's the bunny.

I'm so ashamed to have forgotten Dragonslayer. Great dragon, lame slayer. It was great though; when the wizard gives his life to off the dragon, and everyone's crediting someone else.
The what?!?

Don't know what you were watching, but I've never seen that.

And Christ, you've found a new smilie to abuse...
Have not, have not, have not have not have not.... Well, what happened in it then AND have you ever known me to give a film away??? Where is the 'mystical' video we SUPPOSIDLY had?
by Demona
You have too
Plus, I do not abuse faces, I make them have a new sense of purpose So

For a truly awful fantasy film, don't forget The Sword And The Sorcerer although you'll probably end up wishing you could.
The Princess Bride rates as one of my all time favourite movies, of any genre!

Its sooo funny.
"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!"
I guess thats only funny if you've seen the film. So you have to see it!

Okay, see this is kind of sad, but goes to show what a great movie it is.
