Favourite line from a film ever...
Everyone has their favourite film of all time but does their favourite film quote come from it, my favourite film of all time is star wars but one of my favourite quotes comes from goodfellas (not wanting to offend the young uns i won't put it in) so what about everybody else!

Another one, that is a better quote, but not as impressive as the other one I chose is...
Michael Caine in "Get Carter"...
"You're a big man, but you're out of shape. For me, this is a full time job!"

"I still can't think of anything."
"Ah. Flashback humour."
Or maybe...
"Asps. Very dangerous. You go first."
I think it changes a lot, depending on what you saw lately and what kind of mood you're in.
Or there's:
"I came to Casablanca for the waters."
"For the waters? But we're in a desert."
"I was misinformed."
or any of a dozen exchanges from Casablanca, which is widely regarded as a classic, but no-one ever talks about how funny it is.

My fave film of all time is "Breakfast at Tiffany's" but my fave - or rather my most memorable quote is from pretty woman.
"What like a name? You want me to give you a name or something? .....Cinder ******* rella!"
(you'd have to have seen the film I reckon )

Uh, sounds familiar, but I can't place the film... give me a reminder, would you please?

Erm... Raiders of the Lost Ark?
Evidently so. But I just haven't the time to rectify that at the moment, sadly, due to *lots* of coursework.
Don't know but I distinctly recall it in Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood. I suspect it's a moderately common macho line...

Aliens - an emminently quotable film:
"I say we take off and nuke this site from orbit - it's the only way to be sure"
"I work for the company but, hey, don't let that fool you, I'm really an OK guy"
"OK, we waste him. No offense"
The Thing:
McCready to the Thing: "Yeah, well **** you too!"
Clueless:
"Whatever..."

To quote from the Withnail and Us doccumentary first shown on Channel 4 in 1999 and now on the Withnail and I DVD:
"Of course, the key line in the film is the one you can't say on television ... which is 'Monty you terrible [BEEP]!' "
"But you can't say it -"
"But you can't say it."

Mine is more of an essay rather than a quote.
The Holden confeses speech from Chasing Amy:

The Holden confeses speech from Chasing Amy:
Edited for language
Holden: I love you. And not, not in a friendly way, although I think we're great friends. And not in a misplaced affection, puppy-dog way, although I'm sure that's what you'll call it. I love you. Very, very simple, very truly. You are the epitome of everything I have ever looked for in another human being. And I know that you think of me as just a friend, and crossing that line is the furthest thing from an option you would ever consider. But I had to say it. I just, I can't take this anymore. I can't stand next to you without wanting to hold you. I can't, I can't look into your eyes without feeling that, that longing you only read about in trashy romance novels. I can't talk to you without wanting to express my love for everything you are. And I know this will probably queer our friendship - no pun intended - but I had to say it, because I've never felt this way before, and I don't care. I like who I am because of it. And if bringing this to light means we can't hang out anymore, then that hurts me. But God, I just, I couldn't allow another day to go by without just getting it out there, regardless of the outcome, which by the look on your face is to be the inevitable shoot-down. And, you know, I'll accept that. But I know...I know that some part of you is hesitating for a moment, and if there is a moment of hesitation, then that means you feel something too. All I ask, please, is that you just, you just not dismiss that - and try to dwell in it for just ten seconds. Alyssa, there isn't another soul on this ******* planet who has ever made me half the person I am when I'm with you, and I would risk this friendship for the chance to take it to the next plateau. Because it is there between you and me. You can't deny that. Even if, you know, even if we never talk again after tonight, please know that I'm forever changed because of who you are and what you've meant to me, which - while I do appreciate it - I'd never need a painting of birds bought at a diner to remind me of.

Guess we have another Kevin Smith fan in our midst, which is always a good thing
Although, you might want to be more careful when it comes to quoting some of the script in future

Well, I won't surprise anyone for seconding a vote for the monologue from Holden as an all time great movie moment. Has to be my favourite, but not exactly easy to quote, verbatum, from memory. Also Silent Bob's whole Chasing Amy/Dancer in Vegas bit should get a mention too.
Also just realised I never mentioned Rocky Horror Picture Show in my previous post! D'Oh!
'Why, do you think I should?'
