Jersey Girl?
Hmmmm, perhaps some of the movie fans among us may have heard of Jersey Girl? I really don't know if I want to see it or not. Here's why:
Pros:
- It's written by Kevin Smith
- It's directed by Kevin Smith
- It has Jason Lee in it
- It has Ben Affleck in it (good because in my opinion he's proved he's good in Smith's movies)
Cons:
- It has J-Lo in it (she replaced Joely Lauren Adams at Afflecks' insistance)
Pros:

Still, I would have preferred Adams over Lopez any day. Affleck/Adams were excellent together in Chasing Amy.
Pity. Still, I'll probably watch it when it comes out on DVD for a drunken night in

While I love Joey Lauren Adams, her presence opposite Ben Affleck might have made it look too much like a sequel to Chasing Amy.
But then again, I'm about the only person who enjoys Mallrats

A few thoughts...
1/ If Ms Lopez does not blow a big one then I will do something very silly that my flu wrecked mind cannot currently imagine with sufficient humour.
2/ It is my understanding that Jersey Girl is meant to be Chasing Amy without the in jokes. Casting Joey in this would definitely add to the 'Chasing Amy Lite' image.
3/ The lack of in jokes will probably make it less funny.
4/ As will the lack of Jay and Silent Bob.
5/ It's a Kevin Smith flick. Place your money now for me being their on opening night.
6/ Mall Rats seems to be everyone's favourite Smith flick. Unless you were raised Catholic, then it is probably Dogma. Or you are me, in which case it will be Chasing Amy.

And the film is gonna bomb (well certainly suffer greatly) at the box office coz its being released the same day as the matrix sequel. As Kevin Smith said himself "hell, I'd go and see The Matrix first" so he's understandable peeved.
And for the record... Favourite smith film = Mallrats. See quote for evidence

Those 20 mins are excruiciating
The film is currently over 2 hours long (Hello! Rom Com, we really don't need quite that much sentimental gushing even if it is from the pen of KS)
Liv Tyler is in it
(For me more off putting than J-Lo's presence)
