Yeah but my point was to me they're more or less the same film. There are some slight differences in the story but the only major difference is that it's Americans instead of Scots and Brits instead of Englishmen...if you like the Patriot then I can't understand how you can't like Braveheart.

Anyway we're not going to hijack this thread to talk about Braveheart... go here to talk more about this.

I must admit the only reason I voted Braveheart was because I haven't seen Life of Brian (ok let the stoning commence)

Hubby has informed me that Life of Brian is indeed far superior.

The draw for the second round will commence shortly.

Personally, a little disappointed to see the likes of Jaws, Chinatown, the Godfather (which came number 2 in the Channel 4 Nationwide Poll behind Star Wars) and Casablanca (apparently Rick's heroics resonate less than Keifer as a vampire!) eliminated so early but still lots to play for.

I love The Lost Boys, but knocking out Casablanca!?! I demand a recount! Where's the missing Florida Ballot boxes!?! One of the greatest films of all time, and it's gone already? Oh, the humanity of it all.

The most shocking is Jaws getting knocked out by American Beauty - that film was awful!

Its not the recount JJ - its the voters

Need more people voting to get a better overall picture

No, I insist on a recount. I'll take it to the supreme court if I have to. Well the Lords, at least. There has to have been a mistake somewhere...

What! How can you! And someone as discerning as yourself as well. That film was .. absolutely heavenly. Just thinking about it leaves me lost for words (which, obviously, isn't an easy feat). And Jaws? Shlock pap. Wouldn't have it in my top 150.

I wouldn't have it in mine either (ok I'm going to either upset JJ or Inc so I can't win - help!!!!!)

But I really don't see the appeal of American Beauty, maybe there was too much fluff and hype about it - but I just didn't enjoy it.

Jaws was a great movie to start with, but its appeal was lost with the endless sequels - Jaws 3-D was pushing it and Jaws 4 just had me begging for the shark to win
