Elf

I'd never heard of this until i saw the trailer for it before another film, not sure which film now but that's beside the point. Anyway, Elf...

Elf is about Buddy, played by Will Ferrell (of Old School), a human who was raised by Elves in the North Pole. PoppaElf reveals to him that he's human (he hasn't quite figured it out yet) and he sets off for New York and the Empire State Building to see his real father, played by James Caan.

Much hilarity ensues, with Buddy getting into all sorts of scrapes because of his total naivete about the real world and his total openness towards people. Now, a lot of people will see the trailer and compare it to a crap (as they usually are) Jim Carrey film, but it's much better than most, if not all, Jim Carrey films. It's the first film i've seen Will Ferrell in, but i'll be seeing more.

It had me choking on my minstrels, which has to be a good thing.

Will Ferrell rocks his so funny and plays some classic characters in the films he's been in I am still finding the right time (and spare cash) to go see this.

Ferretgirl Make something idiot-proof and they will make a better idiot

Only just got to see this today after waiting a month to see it. My local cinema seems to be getting really slow for getting releases these days

Anyway, what a fantastic film. I felt like a kid again - and made me feel all christmassy which was strange considering i'd justtaken down the christmas decorations a couple of hours before

theamericanjesus once again, like a bullet as a friend, tell me: can that be all there is?

i saw this recently, but only because Lord Of The Rings wasnt showing. I have to agree it was very funny, and it doesnt need a high mental age to understand it. Go see it!!

I loved this film, and have to agree that will Ferrell rocks, possibly the funniest man ever....just want to know one thing, when is out on dvd, its been nearly a year and there's no sign as far as I know.

Does anyone know????

I think the region one one is out on 16th November. that's according to dvdpacific anyway. hope it helps

Cheers, I'm just bitter that it's taken nearly a year to come out, I bet it'll be out christmas time in the uk, just to tie in with the fact that its a christmas film......a sales boosting gimmick
