And considering David Goyer penned a certain Wesley Snipes vampire trilogy quite well indeed, me's got high hopes for Batman Begins, even if I did prefer the old title...
Movie News
Back again with new bits and bobs of movie news. Some interesting stuff going on
Batman Begins
That's the title of the new Batman film being directed by Christopher Nolan (Memento), written by David Goyer (Zigzag) and starring Christian Bale as the Batman himself. For months, the title has been slated by film sites the world over as Batman: Intimidation Game but that was apparently a ruse to put people off.
Batman Begins is the title and reflects the nature of the film, which deals with the characters origins. Doesn't have enough punch in it for my tastes, but there ya go.
In more Batman news, Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai) has been cast as Batman's nemesis, Ra's Al Ghul in the film. This is a somewhat unexpected casting, but judging by his performance in The Last Samurai, it could work out to be a very adept one. He joins an all-star cast line-up featuring Michael Caine (Alfred), Morgan Freeman (Wayne Enterprises CEO Lucian Fox), Liam Neeson and Katie Holmes.
Aeon Flux: Mission Monster
Charlize Theron (Monster, 15 Minutes) has been signed to star in Aeon Flux: Mission Infinite based on the MTV Cartoon of the same name.
The film, which is set 400 years in the future, will most likely in the vain of Total Recall crossed with The Matrix. In the cartoon, Humans had almost been wiped out by a virus and lived in one city that was housed under a huge bubble. Theron's title character is assigned to kill the government leader.
The Punisher: Punished Again, and Again
The Punisher, starring Thomas Jayne (Dreamcatcher and John Travolta (Battlefield Earth, Swordfish), hasn't even been released yet, but the production company is already working on the sequel.
Don't you just love hollywood?
