Well I can tell you one thing....... I don't want to see muppets
Star Wars... the TV series?
There is increasing info coming outof the grapevine that Lucas isnt planning on doing the third trilogy after all, but to bring Star Wars to the TV screen some time in 2006.
This increasingly seems likely to be a live action, ongoing show, after all, what would the point of doing tv movies or a miniseries, its too like what weve seen before but with less money. Current favourite is telling the story of the time between the trilogies, and use some classic characters like Chewbacca, along with new ones.
What realistically would you like to see from a Star Wars TV series, should they follow the story of one character, should they tell a completely unrelated story to the films, or should they fill in the backstory of minor character from the films?

I'd like to see them use some of the Expanded Universe stories. Most specifically I'd like to see them use the Rogue Squadron books. It'd make a terrific television series *drools*
Just as long as they don't feature the Skywalkers and they have a decent plot I'm not that bothered. But given the state of recent films I'm not expecting much, still there's always KoTOR II.
...as long as it's got HK-47 and Jolee in it...

The only confirmed carry-overs are HK-47 and T3-M4, the rest will be new cast members. Go check gamewinners, there's lots of interesting info. Like light dark allignment control for your whole party
Will do, but I still want the crazy old git in it. He's just funny! And I don't want Carth, Bastila or Mission in it. They really get on my wick. Especially Mission. *tries very hard to stop rambling... *
More info on this coming out, it would seem that Lucas is planning a series that follows the exploits of popular villain/antihero Boba Fett, and much of the focus on the kid in Attack of The Clones was deliberate set up for this series.
Do you think this will work? Will a character that is a loner be able to carry off what has always been an ensemble cast?

It could work...If it was a series dealing with a young Fett and his early adventures in the Bounty Hunter trade it could be good..Suppose it depends how it's written.
It could certainly work. Just because in later life, we see Boba as a complete loner, doesn't mean they can't use some sort of loosely affiliated people to fill out an ensemble.
Hopefully Lucas and LucasFilm will get some well known TV writers to do it and not try to jump from Film to TV straight in on their own.

I know very little of Boba's history as told in the books, i guess theres definitely room to tell his early adventures, the crowd he finds himself in, and eventually joining this Bounty hunters Guild, which would conviniently provide him with amission every epis.. erm I mean week.
The books pretty much don't matter, if Lucas and LucasFilm want to, they can totally contradict them and it doesn't matter (well, except to the fans who take it a bit too seriously... there are a lot of star wars fans like that ).
Fett's backstory is a blank slate, so they can do whatever they want.
A lot depends on how old they have him... i'm thinking between 16 and 20 somewhere.

I'd say the books do matter. Lucasfilm approved all the storys and they are supposedly part of the Star Wars canon. Truthfully though if Lucas wants to change things that isn't going to stop him, hell don't get me started on the Greedo shooting first thing again
In the books Fett was originally a Journeyman Protector(like a police officer) on some planet on the out rim. His name was Jester Merreel(might have the spelling wrong, it's been a while since I read my books) He was expelled from the Protectorate for murdering a fellow Journeyman for raping a woman. He then went on to work as a Bounty Hunter but was very moralistic, his argument against the rebellion was that they were an illegal movement against the elected government. There's a story about how he always worked alone but joined the Bounty Hunters Guild just to break it up and encourage more competition among the hunters.
I'd like to see it start out with a young Fett, freshly released from the Protectorate and learning his way through the Bounty Hunter trade but who knows where they'll go with it.
