That's the MTV clip, and you should know it was heavily edited by MTV and doesn't represent the true coolness of Blade: Trinity.
Blade: Trinity clip online
Ooh, this looks cooool!
Watch the clip here!
At some point I might get round to getting my lazy ass to write one of those preview-thingies for this, but either way I'm memorising the date December 10th! *crosses fingers*

Here's hoping they stay true to the series and go for an R rather than following the trend of making ultra-violence child/box-office friendly with a PG-13...
Thanks Maff, tho' I really should've guessed it'd be edited, tho' I did assume they'd just handpicked a clip they could actually show on MTV or something... *shrug*
But it still looka cool!

Anything with Jessica Biel in is fine by me , looks like Dominic Purcell from John Doe is in it as well.
I quite liked Blade II, even tho' it wasn't a patch on the original. Plus it's (again) a different director; now the guy who actually writes them.
If it's a different director i'd probably be willing to give it a go. The director (and in the case of Bruckheimer, the Producer) usually dicates the whole feel of the film. In which case it might be OK. I'll have to go to imdb and see what other films the director has done.
The problem I found with Blade II was that like Bad Boys II and so many other II films it tries to keep all the original esscence of the film and then make more of it. More explosions, more violence, more killings, more grandness. This is to my mind a very American way of thinking, that more or bigger is better. What it leads to (and what makes me bored) is something I call 'clipping', which is a real term applied to something else.
To explain, I'll have to get slightly technical. When you record sound on a tape the media has a limit to 'loudness' of the sound it can store. Imagine a sinewave on that tape then. Now, if you increase the loudness that wave gets bigger, and when it hits the limit, it will flatten out at the top and bottom portion of the wave. So instead of a curve at the top, you get a flat line. You lose information, the sound distorts and becomes crass. This is called clipping.
The same happens with action sequences in films. I dont mean in the technical way, I mean artistically. When you have sustained, overblown action sequences you begin to artistically 'clip'. It gets BORING quickly.
Another element you could apply to film from the sound world would be Dynamic Range. Radio stations like Radio1 and your local radio stations have very little dynamic range. They sound like you're being constantly bellowed at. They do this as they're always competing for listeners and believe that the station that sounds loudest will win. What they do is to make the quiet bits in the sound nearly as loud as the loud bits. This grabs your attention, but beocmes fatiguing. I don't listen to Radio 1 or local radio.
Same goes with films. If you make everything climax, if everything has little dynamic range, then you dont get the ups and downs...the highs and the lows..the calm before the storm...
So many action film directors dont seem to understand that concept.
Sorry for the long post.

I went to see Blade Trinity last wednesday, took advantage of Will having the day off work, orange wednesday and the fact that was when the preview was
anyways, I have to say I LOVED IT. Without spoiling I will say that it is far more humourous then the first two films of the series but the funny doesnt in my opinion detract from the heart of the plot. The new carictors are introduced (again in my opinion) well and smouthly and they are good carrictors that fit the image and the feel of the blade movies.
I know that the film has not been recived as well by others but all I can give is what I thought and again in my opinion, I found Trinity much beter as a rounded film then Blade II.

nah nah gonna tell GDT u thought B2 sucked , sure it was no devils backbone, after Goyer was producer and scriptwriter on all movies, nice to keep the general music tone throughout the saga from Mystikal's 'The Edge of the Blade' to The RZA's 'Fatal'.
Fingers crossed for spin-offs with Abby and Hannibal King, Wes was annoyed that he didnt get more screentime as he the main character - vain much !!!
CGI is a lot better, see the film as chapter 1 finishing and Chapter 2: The Nightstalkers begins (hopefully

Well Trinity rocked
Ryan Reynolds not so much Hannibal King the Vampire Slayer as Dr Berg with a beard & guns...wonder what happened to Pete....
Jessica Biel - any one else just see her and think FRAY!
Maybe Goyer can borrow that cool axe/scythe thingy for the Nightstalkers series.
Blade....well...he's the daywalker - nuff said
The vamps/leeches/suckheads kinda disappointed they kept the reaper design for regular vamps, though it it did kinda imply that Blade & Whistler failed in B2 to stop the genetic modification of the vampire strain...
All in all....I think I'll go watch it again next weekend
