The area was unusually hot because they'd turned the heating on...thats why the place was found in the first place..cos they registered the weird temprature change by satalite...it wasn't a great film though was it
Aliens Vs Predator
I ain't gonna post a review yet, cos I want to watch it a few more times first. However, I have one big question.
I thought that the whole point of the second Predator film was that the only reason that they could come to the city was because of the unusually hot summer they were having.
So what were Predators doing in the whichever artcic they were in?

They blasted the area with some sorta beam that heated up the whole pyramid area.
- The ending was cheesy (so very open for a sequel!). I guessed exactly how the queen was gonna die almost as soon as she was freed & when they got outside & started fighting, I was sure. I liked the fact that the human was the last man standing, but it was more than a pack of crackers could handle.
- The story was cheap. It was predictable & a tad schlock in places, but not the worst film storyline I've ever seen.
- It wasn't too effects-heavy. I liked the fact that they didn't lean towards heavy-handed CGI effects. I've had my fill lately (Catwoman, anyone )
- The 'big' fight scene between the alien & predator was really good. Probably my fave scene in the film.
All in all, not the worst film I've seen, but not as good as I was expecting.
1 thumb up.

Well, i watched the film this afternoon and... not good at all.
Normally i enjoy films. All of them. I have an ability (sickness?) which enables me to enjoy film and television, even if it is naff.
Well, AvP was *so* naff i didn't even particularly enjoy it.
The story was ridiculously contrived, the nods to the previous films were far too forced and the action was clunky and to be honest, amateurish, especially for a budgetted hollywood flick. Never seen a Paul Anderson film before, but now I believe all the stuff i read about his directing.

i found another discrepancy.(point it out if it is wrong) bishop the human shows up at the end of alien 3, which is set in the future, so how can he also be in this one set earlier by over a hundred years. is he a clone? was he lying about being human in alien 3? or what.
I'm guessing that Bishop was lying in Alien 3. He didn't want Ripley to kill herself as they wanted the alien that was inside her so they could study it. He would probably have said anything to stop her from jumping.
