The Transporter 2
Title: The Transporter 2
Tagline: The Best In The Business Is Back In The Game.
Directed by: Louis Leterrier
Genre: Action / Crime / Thriller (more)
Trailer: Quicktime
Plot Outline: Mercenary Frank Martin (Jason Statham), who specializes moving goods of all kinds, surfaces again this time in Miami. He’s back and as cool as ever… the guy that drives you from place A to B no questions asked, but by his rules.
As a favor to a friend he fills in as a chauffeur for a rich family, doing all the little jobs. But as everyone knows how has seen the Transporter 1, Frank isn’t that kind of driver. Even in this job however his skills aren’t wasted. When driving the kid of the US official to the doctor he promises the kid that he wouldn’t let anybody hurt him, and as we all know Frank never breaks a promise……
Overall it’s a movie that you can appreciate with a few mates while enjoying some beers, but really isn’t up there at the same level as the Transporter 1. It might be advisable that you see Transporter 1 before you go and watch number 2 though as the relationship between some of the recurring characters isn’t explained to well and you might miss some of the “deeper†levels of this movie (if you could call it that ) Instead of doing many expensive stunts they have chosen to use CGI in many places. It is a shame however that the CGI is really badly done (read too obvious). Many of the car stunts are also too obviously faked. Although funny, the car scenes don’t have the “breath taking†feel to it that the scenes in France had in the first Transporter. Overtaking cars on the Interstate with the cars nicely spread apart is a bit different from driving through the busy streets of France. However if you like the “Dirty†video by Christina you can most likely can appreciate the female baddy
