Latest Game-to-Film adaptation news
Game-to-film adaptations have been common in the last few years. First there was Street Fighter, Resident Evil, etc.. most if not all of them have been dire, but there is hope.
Christophe Gans (a french guy who's highly tipped to be a future great), is directing Silent Hill. A highly successful, and popular franchise, so lots of people will be hoping for a decent adaptation. Well there's a teaser trailer now and it looks like it could be one of the best game adaptations yet. You can see it here.
Another adaptation that is on it's way is Dead or Alive. One of the great beat em up franchises, based on babes with boobies. Well, that's the direction they're taking with the film. It's a cheesy girl-power martial arts film. And Holly Valance is in it. [sarcasm]Sounds good doesn't it?[/sarcasm]
That one is here.
The other huuuuuge game franchise that is on movie slates now is of course Halo. The good news is that producing the film is no other than Peter Jackson. He's not directing it, but he's trying to get Guillermo del Toro to do it. We can only hope.
