I think I was a tad too old to get into the Turtles when they were originally big, it was never a property that ever got me excited, not the cartoons, and certainly not the movies with those annoying animatronic heads that were all the rage.
This however looks good, and is actually something Id want to watch if I hadnt a clue what the poperty was, which is probably the best thing you can say about a licence film.

For some reason my computer won't play the trailer, so I've not seen it yet, but from looking at the posters I have to say that they look pretty awful... Maybe if I hadn't seen them in "real" form before I wouldn't dislike them so much, but IMO they looked really good in the other film. Granted they were a little bit "clunky" during some of the action scenes, but on the whole they looked good. These new ones I'm not keen on at all...

How can you tell? 3 of the posters are so dark you can hardly see the characters...

How long ago was that? how old where you then? Maybe you've got a case of "everything was better back then"...? Try rewatching the old movie and see if it still holds up to your current standards.
Maybe if I hadn't seen them in "real" form before I wouldn't dislike them so much, but IMO they looked really good in the other film.

Admittedly they are very dark, but I think you can see enough of them to see that they look pretty naff. They just look too cartoony, which I know is a stupid thing to say about an adaptation of a comic book, but like I said I've seen them done live action before and I thought they looked better that way.
And I've seen the film quite a few times over the years, I'll usually watch it whenever it's on telly.
