It's not had a huge advertising campaign and my local multiplex (a Vue) didn't have many showings (even on the first weekend of release), but The Kingdom is an excellent, (relatively)thoughful actioner.

Directed by Peter Berg and starring Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman and Chris Cooper, the film starts when terrorists blow up a softball game in an American oil company compound in Saudi Arabia. When the emergency/investigative services get there, another, bigger bomb goes off, blowing everyone to smitherines. Agent Flurry (Foxx), then leads his team to a very hostile Saudi Arabia to try and catch the people responsible.

The film could so easily have been a run of the mill, cliched anti-middle eastern terrorist romp, but while it's not perfect in this respect, it presents a much more thoughtful look at the issues than your average Hollywood film might. The performances are all good, as you'd expect from this ensemble. Jamie Foxx has become a reliable star and Garner, while having done mostly lighter stuff since Alias ended, puts in an excellent performance.

Judging by the timetable at our Vue it might not be on in cinemas for long, but if you get the chance, it's definitely worth seeing.
