Don't delete my posts again, thanks.
Edit the swearing if you like, but whipping them off with no notice is disrespectful when it only serves to hide the fact that your original post gave away the ending of the movie and a pretty important event during it, without providing a spoiler warning at the time.
Back on the topic of the actual movie, my other half had some scared moments but I found it difficult to buy into. I'm trying to be as vague as possible with this one, but the incident with the car that was repeated under different circumstances annoyed me a lot. How did he not know what was going to happen? Seriously? Also, why did a sliver of light stop the dogs like a barrier when it would only have taken a few seconds to cross it and we'd seen longer survival under similar conditions? If I can't believe a movie that's trying to be scientific then I just can't take it seriously and unfortunately that's what happened here.
There were a few ::slap forehead:: moments in there that just brought the movie down and I was disappointed with the ending - not with what happened, just the way it seemed rushed. In my opinion, it was a good idea that was poorly executed. I saw echoes of Twelve Monkeys, Castaway, Waterworld and a few others so it didn't feel that original either. I will concede, however, that Will Smith does an outstanding job.
Oh, and apparently that's the WORST way to hunt deer. I'm told that they're a bit stupid and they can't see you if you sit still in long grass, so he could have popped a couple if he'd been more patient... granted it wouldn't have looked as cool.
Anyway, if you're going to see this movie then you'll see it no matter what I type here, but I'd recommend waiting for the DVD unless you've got a Cineworld (or similar) Pass and it's not going to cost you more than the petrol or bus fare to get to the cinema.
