Chris Evans?!

Oh, the other Chris Evans.

Not a follower of the comics (isn't he dead at the mo, or did he get better?), but so far as I know, Capt America has to be a stern-jawed piece of patriotic beefcake. Evans fulfills that, and can act OK into the bargain, which is a nice bonus.

Isn't Capt. America masked up? Should cut down on the confusion stakes. Regardless, if he's suitably heroic, and whops those anti-American elements good, the bases are covered.

Anyone else seen the last Captain America movie? Not sure if it was a made-for-TV flick, or got a release, but it involved the all American one being frozen and thawed out in the Nineties, and facing off against some sort of deep chilled Nazi supersoldier. (As you do.)

If the plot for the new one is half as ridiculous, it'll be worth spending the popcorn bucks on.

I can't remember the release specifics, but all that was really changed is the Red Skull was changed from German to Italian - because everyone knows that an American war hero attacking Nazis is hugely offensive to American sensibilities.

I think it's the WW2-era run up to the stuff that happens in the Avengers movie, where Cap is thawed out in the present day and teams up with the Norse deity Thor, Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk against Loki, the Norse trickster god. As you can tell, much more plausible.
