Subject: Head charity day
I have been asked by the TRC to pass on details about their open day soon, I felt it could be of interest to the Tony Head fans here!
PRESS RELEASE for immediate use
Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre Open Day
Last year the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre was forced to cancel its Open Day, one of the charity's major fund-raising events, because of the foot and mouth outbreak. To celebrate the return to rural normality, this year the Centre is planning an even bigger event than usual, made possible by generous sponsorship from Dee Lousada, a long-term supporter of the TRC. The Open Day will take place on Sunday 23 June from 12 noon to 4.00pm at the Centre's yard, Poplar Grove Farm, Humblescough Lane, Nateby, Lancashire.
Admission is £5 for adults, with a £3 concessionary rate for retired people and children aged between five and sixteen. Children under five will be admitted free of charge and car parking is also free.
The TRC has managed to secure a special guest appearance from this year's Grand National Winner, Bindaree, as well as regulars Desert Orchid, Earth Summit and the TRC's own 1984 Grand National Champion Hallo Dandy. Members of Greyhounds UK will also be there to talk about their work and parade their rescued dogs. There will be demonstrations of some of the rehabilitation techniques used at the Centre including schooling, the Tellington Touch, dentistry and massage therapy.
Actors Anthony Head and Charlie Lawson, who are both great supporters of the Centre's work, will be there to sign autographs and draw the raffle! The TRC staff will be on hand to talk about their work and the afternoon will end with a parade of all 24 current resident thoroughbreds.
