There's a lot of mud slinging going on there...

I know which side I believe and its not the one thats accusing people of lying and taking money off fans when they can't provide the goods.

Its a shame that Cons seem to be going that way and thinking about another TV Show's main stars and how Money has become such a big issue (£300 a ticket FFS!) I can easily see how this situation wil have arisen.

I just hope that this doesn't affect his attempts to book guests from other shows for other events.

Maybe Bryan did promise what he couldn't deliver. But then many of the people who bought tickets didn't buy them cos of anything *Bryan* said. Chris Judge himself, in front of hundreds of people *asked* Bryan if he could come to SG-8. Bryan naturally replied yes, and CJ said to the hundreds in the hall "See you all at SG-8 then!"

If he says he's thinking about The Fans, it's a shame that he's chosen to not meet the fans who bought tickets to see him on his own word.

Chris may have other reasons - the con he's picked may be less strenuous for instance, or shorter hours or whatever. That's fine. And anyone who books for a con and doesn't half expect several cancellations is kidding themselves, so it shouldn't be a *huge* disaster for anyone.

I'm just posting this cos I think at least two of the above statements are massively unfair towards Bryan; Bryan I'm sure has acted in good faith.

Obviously what is posted on other forums has just been used here for information to our members only, who don't have the time to trawl all the different convention/event sites for themselves.

I don't have a ticket for SG8, but I have attended 3 SG conventions in the past as well as other events by Wolf. What I do know is that each time I booked a ticket I didn't do so on the strength of any particular actor. After a few years you do learn that there are the possibilities of cancellations very close to events. The SG events over the years have been the ones that consistently (irrespective of who's appearing) sell out EXTREMELY fast!

However, I do believe (especially from reading comments elsewhere) that many people book depending on certain guests. If CJ had purely cancelled the Wolf event due to personal reasons then very few would have batted an eyelid. With Michael Shanks, everyone understands that he wants to spend valuable time with his family - everyone has their own commitments and the majority of fans respect a guests time.

Obviously the uproar has been caused (as has much confusion regardless of the who, what, whys and whens, elbow shoving and comments) by the fact that CJ has still chosen to do something the same weekend It is natural for people who have already purchased Wolf tickets to be miffed - if it was me I'd feel the same.

It's a huge shame
