What days you staying there and I would recommend booking on the thistle website for the room as it is £50.53 a night for a twin room, thats without breafast but depend whether you think breakfast is worth £28 a night. Its up to you I have no problems booking the room if you dont want to.

Just to update, the tickets are now available to book online (finally!) as I booked mine yesterday.

How could you have booked yesterday if they weren't available until today?

Read it again. I didn't say they were available from today. I said they were now available to book as I had booked mine yesterday. I just only got round to posting about it today

What I said makes perfect sense
What you failed to mention was that the priority booking (via phone only from what I've heard) was the previous day & now ticket sales were open to all (inc. online booking).

I'm seriously toying in going to this - and its the weekend of my birthday

Sounds cool -- and if they get more guests it would be nice to go -- but question: why are cons getting so much more expensive? Is it that fewer people are going, or are the fans being milked for money?

Do you mean expensive as a whole (with hotels and travel etc?) or do you mean ticket price?

Because seriously £60 for 3 days isn't too bad if you have guest talks, an autograph thrown in, plus the parties. It's the same cost (I think) as what I first paid for attending S14's N2K back in 2000 (wow where did those years go )

If you had 3 guests for example your entry would be covered as most signings now are £15 each at separate events.

If you mean for conventions/events where the entry price alone is a lot higher (ie the DB/JM thingy) then yes I'd agree with you there

We have been asked about day tickets for this event and will be making them available on the 14th November only for the Saturday of the event. So if you can only visit Ellen one day then make it Saturday 15th January 2005.

A bit more detail has come through for the con.

There will be a meet and greet Friday evening and autograph sessions, photograph sessions and talks during Saturday. Sunday has yet to be finalised.

Although it hasn't been mentioned, I'm sure there will be the usual party, at least for Saturday night anyway.

Welcome to Death Like Me the event.



TICKET NUMBER/S: 3



It has been sometime since we decided to launch an event for Dead Like Me. In that time SKY failed to show season 2 and a Terrestrial channel has yet to broadcast the show.



This has had an effect on the growth of an active fan base. This in turn has meant LOW ticket sales.



We have been faced with a choice, to proceed with the event or not.



After looking at the options we decided a commitment to the fans was a commitment. So we are proceeding with the event with some alterations.



The event will now only run Friday evening (weekend tickets only) for a meet & greet, with Saturday being the main event day.

There will be video presentations, autographs, photo session and of course a Q&A with the showÂ’s star Ellen Muth. We will not be operating a party Friday or Saturday night.



Location: Thistle Hotel, Bath Road, Longford, West Drayton, UB7 0EQ

The times are: Friday 20.00 - 22.00 & Saturday 11.00 - 17.00



We fully understand that travel plans may have been made taking Sunday into account. This is unfortunate and we hope that where possible you will be able to alter these arrangements.



As to cost, the tickets for the weekend were £60. These will now be £45 which includes Friday evening. You will be offered a photo for the signing or a photo session as compensation for the difference. If you do not wish to have a photo for signing or a photo session, the difference will be refunded to you at the event.

The hotel is located at Heathrow and can be reached by the HOPPA Bus from T1,2,& 3. Cost approx £2.50.



Car Parking is available at a cost of £5.

Any feedback on the event, numbers, guest, would be welcome before the thread is overshadowed by so many others!

There were actually more people than I thought there would be, after all the fuss about numbers (although I can understand the hesitation).

Ellen gave me a bit of a toothache (no one has a right to be that 'sweet').

We made do without parties (well on the friday night anyway, as I hadta jet on saturday night).

I did bunny ears on Ellen in my pic with her (she actually thought it was a hoot).

Numbers? Just over 50, I think. But, from a fanboy point of view, I preferred it like that. Much more time with Ellen. I've never had that much access to a guest before and probably won't ever again.

In summary, great event, great guest (Ellen is sweet, friendly and funny) and something I'll remember for a long time.

But go read the interview and write up!!

Oh, yeah. The audio from the interview should be up on the site soon as well. Just ignore the idiot asking the questions, though.....
