Subject: Independents' Day - A Firefly Shindig
I have booked the Caxton Theatre in Grimsby for an
inaugural "Firefly Shindig" entitled "Independents' Day" on SATURDAY 26TH FEBRUARY 2005. If this takes off we may look to bring guests to the events in much the same way as for a Slayerfest. But to be honest we don't know how big the
demand will be so we will run regardless! The event will run from 7 -11pm.
If you don't know Firefly, come along to find out exactly why so many fans are getting REALLY excited for April 2005 when the movie version of Joss Whedon's short-lived TV show springs into action as "Serenity".
I have seen the trailer for "Serenity" and it looks very, very cool.
The event will be held in the theatre Bar and will be a chance for fans to meet up with and mix with other fans of the show. There will be a chance to win a prize for the best fancy dress on the Firefly theme and we will run a raffle of Joss Whedon-related goodies from Buffy, Angel and Firefly. Tickets will be sold through the Caxton Theatre box office telephone 01472 346251 tickets will go on sale
from the start of December.
Tickets will cost £4 and all profits will go to the Caxton Theatre's Youth Theatre programme.

This is officially the last call for the Grimsby
shindig "Independents' Day". Ticket sales have been extremely low and I have decided that there will be a cut off date of 17th January. If insufficient tickets have been sold then regretfully the event will be cancelled.
Anyone wishing to purchase tickets can call 01472 346251 and can book using a credit ir debit card with no charge for the transaction. Any tickets purchased will be refunded if the event is cancelled.

Here's a timely reminder to all that are in the UK. We are holding a Firefly/Serenity shindig called "Independents' Day" at the Caxton Theatre in Grimsby on Saturday 26th February. Tickets are still on sale and cost just £4 all profits going to the Caxton Youth Theatre Project.
We aim to show you the best of times and will hold a raffle and an auction of goodies. I heard from Summer today with news that she is attempting to persuade her cast mates to donate items for auction and she has had a number of promises including one from Joss himself.
The event will run from 7-11pm and is open to all ages. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Caxton Theatre Ticket Office at Grimsby Central Library or by calling 01472 346251. We accept credit and debit cards and do not charge a booking fee.
