Did you enjoy watching ‘The Lord of the Rings’? If so, come and meet the cast and crew who made the magic happen at the The Fellowship Festival.
Richard Taylor, one of the worldÂ’s most leading experts in the creation of special effects and who personally won four Oscar for his work on the film is making a rare visit to the UK when he attends festival at the Wembley Conference Centre. The head of the world famous Weta Workshop, will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to not only hear how he created some of the most spectacular scenes ever recorded on film but also to see him demonstrate some of the secrets and tricks of the trade.
Event organiser, Louise Henry said, ‘This is a unique opportunity for film-goers everywhere to gain an in-depth understanding of this fascinating work. We are tremendously excited to have Richard and his team attending this event. He is a truly inspiring person to listen to with an immense passion for this craft.’
Richard, who is taking time out from his hectic schedule working on his next big projects, ‘King Kong’ and ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’, will be flying to London especially to disseminate trade secrets with film fans. He’ll participate in question and answer sessions, giving out exclusive gifts from his company, Weta Workshop and doing live make-up demonstrations, transforming a ‘Lord of the Rings’ actor into a gruesome ORC for the delight of the fans. Richard will also be attending The Fellowship Feast, an intimate evening where fans spend the evening wining and dining with other stars from the famous trilogy.
In an event that will showcase the magnificent works of Tolkien and Peter Jackson, The Fellowship Festival, supported by New Line Cinema and The Tolkien Society, will see the largest ever gathering of actors from The Lord of the Rings trilogy including Billy Boyd, who played Pippin. Fans will be treated to comedy and mayhem hosted by two actors from the films, Craig Parker (Haldir) and Mark Ferguson (Gil-Galad).
Designed to celebrate the tremendously successful movie trilogy, The Fellowship Festival, gives visitors a chance to partake in an in-depth exploration into TolkienÂ’s amazing world. Fans can experience the varied art, effects and make-up that were used in the making of the films, meet members of the cast and crew, buy exclusive merchandise and get the chance to live it up into the night at the parties. ThereÂ’s a whole raft of competitions, to discover hidden talents for those creatively inclined with amazing prizes to win awarded by renowned Tolkien artists John Howe and Alan Lee.
