Alton Towers - Saturday 31st August 2002
ItÂ’s that time of year again!!
WeÂ’re organising another Alton Towers meet for Saturday 31st August 2002
For those of you who havenÂ’t been before, Alton Towers is a large theme park near Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. There's tonnes of rides, shows and gardens and it's suitable for all ages
ItÂ’s a full day out and many of us will be making a weekend of it and staying in a nearby hotel.
The Hotel:
WeÂ’ll be booking rooms in a local hotel for those of you who would like to stay on the Friday and/or Saturday nights.
The hotel is the Holiday Inn Express, Burton-upon-Trent. This is a different venue to last year, however as it is part of the same hotel chain the facilities are pretty much identical. The hotel is situated just off the A38 and thereÂ’s a large pub/restaurant and a McDonalds next door. The hotel are also happy to order in takeaways and provide plates for you to eat them in the hotel breakfast bar!
Hotel Cost:
Single/double/twin/family rooms: £49.00 per room, per night.
Triple rooms (3 adults sharing): £61.50 per room, per night.
Continental breakfast is included in the room price.
Alton Towers Cost:
We will be booking tickets for the park in advance. The cost depends on the numbers going, but is likely to be £16.50 (a significant saving on buying a ticket on the day!).
What to do next:
If you would like to go, or would simply like more info, please post below with your email address and Yvonne will send full details to you in the next day or two
If you donÂ’t post your address you wonÂ’t get the details!

Oh, I'd love to go... especially cause i heard that ickle sophie will be there!
But.. you know.. cant say for *sure* yet.. as usual it depends on money...
Oh and MonSter, we all know *why* you'd like to go to AT again... you like to lead people into the woods to get a good breakfast, eh?! Just a pity for you that everybody you went into the woods with last time wasnt the right size to get cooked. So...Mamf and everybody who'll take their kids with them... mind the MonSter!!

Ohh will have exam results by then... might be the ideal way to celebrate (or drown sorrows) and as such may be able to convince rents to pay...

We'll start collecting money soon after the cons, it gives you two months to get the cash together and send in to us. We know some people will be skint for a few weeks after Eclipse, which is why we're making sure everyone has *loads* of time.
Anyone who has emailed me asking for tickets and/or rooms to be booked for them are already on the list. Anyone else interested will need to email me to confirm, but again you have *loads* of time

Can I assume that the hotel needs to be paid for in advance again?
The exact deadlines for payment, cancellation etc. are in the email, but just to give you an idea, we'll need the full payment for the room and ticket by around 3 weeks beforehand.
