Xmas Gathering - 10th December Report - Magic Martin & The Hot Things...
Well that was one of the funniest meets I've been to for a long time.
All started around 2pm when I met PoF at Oxford Circus. We made our way to the Crouch where DM and Spike were already waiting and so began the drinking. We chatted away about Spike's new found attempts at chatting up women and he told us about Grace, "The Riddler". And we don't mean Riddler as in Batman but as in that scary ass puppet show that used to be on ITV at lunchtimes.
Idiosyntheitc(Steve) turned up with his Polish girlfriend Camilla and shortly after that Ming turned up. We continued to throw the drinks back and Spike started showing us some of his card tricks. They were actually really good. Best one has to be the one with the coin that burns through the deck. Very, very impressive and a tool that would later be put to great use.
Around 6pm Pooks turned up but Steve and his friends left almost at the same instant. We sat about drinking for a while until 2 fit girls decided to sit at the table next to ours. We tried to get Spike to go and chat them up but he wasn't up for doing it on his own so I was used as the 'in' man. I wandered over and introduced them to Spike and mentioned how good his magic was and that he wanted to show them some tricks. So he did his thing and worked his magic on the girls for about half an hour. After that we decided we were heading to the Steam Engine for some karaoke so Spike and PoF asked the girls if they wanted to join us. One of them gave Spike her number and told him they'd be along later and they'd call him to come and meet them at Lambeth tube station. We got as far as Oxford Circus when Spike realised he'd deleted her number by accident
So Spike ran back to Ben Crouches and the rest of us made our way to the Steam Engine. We got there and watched X-Factor results and then the boxing before the Karaoke started. Spike appeared in the pub about 10 minutes after us and said he'd gotten her number again but we all thought that there was no chance these girls would turn up. I mean these were some really gorgeous girls...About an hour later we were proved wrong!! Deeva & Olivia made there appearance and Spike's new found status as 'King Dong' was now given.
So the Karaoke began. Highlights include DM singing 'Show me the way to Amarillo' with myself and PoF as back up dancers/walkers, Pooks singing 'Bitch' and my rendition of Snow Patrol's 'Run' got some healthy applause. We then picked up our 2nd set of good looking women when we were suddenly joined at our table by "Noddy" and her mate Sadie. Noddy's real name is Claudia but she calls herself Cloddy..but in my drunken state Noddy sounded way more fun and so she was named. I think she thought it was kinda funny. Anyway Noddy did 'Sweet Child Of Mine' and had me and PoF as her backing dancers. Other songs done were Pof, me, Deeva & Olivia doing 'Barbie Girl' and what has to be the coolest song I've ever done on karaoke..myself and Pof singing 'Let's Get Ready To Rumble'.
We left the pub around half past 12 and Pooks gave me a lift home which is highly appreciated
So the shout-outs...
PoF - The pink one strikes again with some quality singing. Always a good night when you're there dude and we are so the best band in the world..well maybe Tenacious D are slightly better
DiM - Ages since I last saw you mate. Shame Jabba couldn't make it. Thanks for the card and I'm gonna try and make it for Friday
Pooks - Thanks for organising it even if there weren't many people there. Easily one of the best nights out I've had for an age. Thanks again for the lift
Spike - You are the man. My illusions have been shattered and seeing you work your magic on this girls was surreal. Hopefully you'll get some use out of the "ballon" I gave you
Ming - You 'so' wanted to get on the stage and bust some moves. Hope you had a good time and that you'll make it to the G-Party. It's always handy to have someone at the pub that can check the footie scores for us
Idiosynthetic & Friends - Was good to see you again Steve. Glad you've gotten over your coffee habit as well
Noddy & Sadie - Hopefully soon to be new members of Team T21. Glad you girls had fun with us loons and hope you make it to the next shin-dig.
And with that I'm off back to bed with my hangover...

I've put my write-up of the evening in the 'T-Journal December 11th' thread, so I won't repeat it here. But it was a great night.
Great meet, not had a meet like this for a long time! Thanx for a great night everyone who showed, after yesterday its kinda made me think T21 may have some life left in it yet.
LOL...I keep forgetting that T21 tags and journal ones are different

I definitely had a great time. I'll certainly look into the G-Party too and nice to know I serve *some* useful purpose...
