I'd probably be up for this.
T21 goes to Alton Towers
Hi Guys,
I'm posting this just to gauge interest in a trip to Alton Towers later in the year (I'm looking at the 12th August as a potential date). It would be similar in nature to previous years' trips, with a visit to the park on the Saturday whilst staying at a local hotel on the Friday and/or Saturday nights.
So basically what I need to know is whether there would be enough interest in this. If you would be interested please post below. There's no commitment at this stage, so don't worry about posting if you're unsure about the date etc. I'm just looking for an idea of potential numbers.
Thanks

Yup, count me in!
I'd be a 'tentative' yes.
If I want my holiday next year I need to be a good lad....
EDIT - If we went for £30 a ticket I dunno about that now, I'd happily sit in a hotel and cause carnage though

I could be a possible but that date clashes with Memorabilia and that's a sort of working weekend for me......
I'd imagine that we'd go for the group prices again, subject to numbers

depending on price, i could possibly be interested in this - havent been since the late 80's...
Even though I'm not likely to do Alton Towers itself (it's not like I did last time )it would be great to get together for anything else that can be planned for the evenings
Definitely up for this, though the weekends either side (Aug 4/5 or 18/19) would probably be better for me.
Not sure if Rich is getting online at the moment, but it was leaning towards the 19th August the last time we spoke.
Trying to do something a little different this time too if it can be pulled off

Yeah, weekends either side make no difference for me, I can make any of them. So long as it isn't the 26th, cos that's Reading weekend...
As for doing something different... I'm not sure when you're thinking of but not everyone arrives in time to do something on the Friday night, and most people are completely knackered on Saturday after spending the day at Alton Towers. So something that involves straying too far from the hotel may not be to everyone's tastes...

Sorry I'm a bit slow in replying (have had an enforced break from the internet for a week or so)..
As Sam said, we're now looking at the 19th August. As for the "something different" bit; what we're hoping to do is find somewhere where there are more amenities than just the usual pub and restaurant within walking distance. I know that folks can get there quite late on the Friday and that the Saturday can be quite tyring, so if we can find somewhere where things are right on our doorstep then folks can do other things if and when they're able. It also means that folks who don't want to go to the theme park will have plenty of options for the daytime
We still have to check round a number of hotels to make sure that we can find somewhere with the best combination of price and location so we won't post full details just yet, but as soon as we have somewhere concrete then we'll post up

Be great to get to a meet this year. Should have a little more mula by August, although its right in my holiday season
If the other 'alf is going then I probably will too, I doubt I'll go to AT tho because I only go on the runaway mine train, teacups, rapids and log flume so it's not really worth it!
