Show me a blank piece of paper and what response will that engender?

Surely the nature of experience is such that encountering any piece of art cannot fail to elicit a response?
OK, to some degree it must elicit some response. But there are degrees. Most of what passes for pop today I find bland and uninteresting. The only strong response is a curling of the lip. Much of the work of Pollock and the like has a similar response. Whereas the works of Tracey Emin or Lichtenstein (sp?) does interest me. Horses for courses.
