Premature baby fundraising update: midsummer Madness

Sorry about the long silence on this front - I've been marshalling my thoughts
You may recall, we were thinking about holding a fundraising event to benefit a babycare charity, following on from the sad news about Gordon Brown's daughter.

And if you don't recall, here are the relevant threads:

Anyway, I've just had a long chat with the community fundraiser at Tommy's, who was very encouraging, so I think we're ON. I want to go for Red's idea, a one-day scramble around London in teams of four, competing for points by visiting landmarks and other places of interest, and having photos taken or collecting souvenirs as proof.

For example: one point for each Tube station, three points for a major sports stadium, five points for having your photo taken with someone in uniform (eg policeman, Tower of London Beefeater, nurse), seven points for the signature of a Member of Parliament (I *think* I can swing this), nine points for a pic at the top of the London Eye, 15 points for visiting the HQ of the charity etc etc etc...

Hopefully, doing it professionally enough, and insisting on teams with an adult in, will allow some of the younger members to take part. I'm looking at doing it in June, on the longest day - perhaps calling it the Midsummer Madness. Starting point: Trafalgar Square at sunrise. Or, at least, early in the day...

Still a lot to sort out, so bear with me and be patient (that means YOU Spike ), but hopefully we can make this work...

ooh ooh, ok its a bit of a wait but yeah i wanna do it. thing is, will it be a weekend or weekday? ok jsut looked and its a friday which could be ok, but maybe saturday will be better for most people i don't wanna spoil it or anything. but whaever day it is i'll make it.

I think, on balance, Saturday would be better than Friday - more people able to take part. So Saturday June 22 it is.

I spoke to Tam about that... she wouldn't be able to organise a jump for this year so that suggestion kinda ruled itself out...
