Tangent21 Sci-Fi World Cup!

We are announcing the first official Tangent 21 Sci-fi World Cup Competition!

Do you know your scifi trivia, or just really good at guessing? Well there's only one way to find out.

As they say its agame of two halves, 45 mins of scifi trivia, a 15 min break and another 45, just like
that game with the ball, you know the one...

The place? Our #Trivia room. The time? Rounds will take place in the week of 1-6th July, at 8pm with the winner of each round going through to the final held on SUNDAY July 7th.

Post here if you are interested, mention any day you cant make and we'll contact you to let you know what day your first game is.

(For those worried about such things there will be no Sky Buffy/Angel spoilers, but light knowledge of others non-BBC series may come in handy)

NOTE:In case of the finalists doing Nos/Caritas it maybe possible to rearrange a suitable time to complete the game

Wow what a final! Who needs Wimbledon!

A titanic battle, the top 4 places were in flux, but towards the nd of the match two clear leaders emerged, Spikeo (who we only persuaded to take part last minte) and Ming (who got through as highest scoring loser)!

After a final recount was done to allow for a mis spelled anwer, the result was (fortunately) unchanged, Spikeo grabbed 772 points to Ming's 756, a margin of 16 points, about one question's worth after 90 minutes!

So congratualtions to Spikeo, this months Scifi World Cup champion, keep an eye out for details or future events!

Funny thing is I nearly missed this round as I was still at work frantically getting a presentation document ready for the following morning. I'd just managed to shoo my colleague off when Yvonne's irate reminder turned up on MSN Messenger!

In any case, I suspect my much improved performance came from fewer Dark Angel questions and more really obscure stuff!

I tried my best as the only bird in the finals, but there's just no competing against boys who were old enough to remember Blake-7 (Ming).
Having said that, I'm not sure if I'd want to go down in T21 history as a big geek

... when's the next one?

Not sure about that - I was aware I was running late, I was just shooing off my colleague, having assured here I would have the presentation and financial model printed off and with me this morning so she didn't need to stick around!

Boy - now there's a word I haven't heard used to described me in a long time. Anyway, I didn't get all the B7 questions - I lost the Liberator one due to a typo.

Having said that, I'm not sure if I'd want to go down in T21 history as a big geek ... when's the next one?
