I wouldn't know, they never showed Who here in the Netherlands
Who should star in the next Doctor Who series?
Paul McGann (15%)
Anthony Stuart Head (56%)
Peter Woodward (10%)
Rowan Atkinson (19%)

Don't know where the last 3 choices came from - McGann IS The Doctor. He proved that in the TV Movie.
I'll admit that he was good but i don't think he would suit the role permenantly. Tony Head on the other hand... I think he would fit in perfectly. Especialy is the BBC do go ahead with the rumours and create a new series with David Fury's help. Those two know each other well enough to create material that would be really effective!

They should, perhaps, do one story with Paul McGann and then have him regenerate into ASH
I think Peter Woodward would be the best choice. He's relatively unknown yet his role on Crusade showed he can play that sort of part well.
Paul McGann would be my second choice, again mainly for the fact that he's proven himself in the role, albeit in a one-off Tv Movie.
Rowan Atkinson would just simply be "Blackadder in Space(or Time really)" I think it would change the direction of the whole show too much.
Tony Head I think is too well known in his Giles role after what will be 7 years in the part. It'd be too much like type-casting and I think people at large would have a hard time seperating Giles from Tony from the Doctor.

Someone can't spell ASH's middle name (STEWART) Sorry, I'm picky !!!!
I want to see him as ythe doctor, even if he's said that hes not doing it

Am I just TOO dense, but who is Peter Woodward?
Anyhoo, I reckon McGann was good as the doc, but ASH wound make a good change after him.

I have to agree with you there! Peter Woodward was excellent in crusade! It's a shame that JMS never found a network willing to continue the series

S'ok, I haven't got the foggiest idea who he is either.

I have to agree with MonSTeR here, Peter was fantastic as Galen in Crusade... I think he hasn't been type-cast yet as anything so would be a real fresh approach to the part of Doctor Who
I'm sure I read somewhere the other day that Tony was going to be the next Who. Can't remember where though, so can't say if it was a trustworthy source or not! Ho hum...
This has sort of been answered in the surrounding posts. But Peter Woodward (son of Edward Woodward) played the part of Galen (an excellent character in my opinion) in the Babylon 5 spin off Crusade.

Peter Woodward, hes got an otherworldly quality about him, Of coure we could have his dad an Equaliser type Doctor
Peter Woodward was also in 'The Patriot', as Brig General O'Hara. Personally, I don't care whp gets the part, as long as he's English, like all the other Time Lords
