Depends on the length of the skirt, what shoes you've teamed it with and the style of the blouse too. Lets face it there are plenty of white blouses out there that are far from 'formal' dress. your friend probably got it slightly wrong

i thought you couldn't go wrong with smart black and white, but apparently one girl who wore virtually the same outfit i did (black skirt white blouse) was told 'this is a formal interview, you did know that formal dress was required?'
had me biting my nails! heh
Job Interview
I've decided to try and get myself back into the land of being employed
and have landed myself a job interview at our local Council on Wednesday. Basically I thought now Len is home more he can look after Georgia to give me a break and I can have some independence working part time.
I've not had an interview for aaaaggggeeesss so am quite nervous about it. What on earth do they ask these days? What should I wear? oh decisions, decisions

i went a some seminar a week ago and it was about personal development (answering phones, what to wear etc)

/me goes off to check her wardrobe for something suitable to wear
It was all a bit silly in a way in that the women talking was well out of fashion wearing a bright blue suit.
One thing she did say for women was not to wear too contrasting colours i think. Plus she mentioned dont dress unappropriate (of course) and for women to wear tights unless it is really really hot (i remember this as she emphasised the really hot but loads)
I'm getting nervous now - not sure why really - I've run offices and worked ever since I left school - many years ago.......
Thanks for the well wishes, I'll let you know how I get on

Not exactly sure how it went really.
They were supposed to let me know today if I got the job or not but they didn't ring at all so I'm not holding my breath

Erm nope

Have you had any news yet hun?

I'm going to wait until this afternoon to see if they phone me or have sent a letter, if I still haven't received anything I'll grab the bull by the horns and given them a ring

Hold that thought!!
They just rang me and offered me a three month contract as a trial (due to me having to be retrained etc) but its a start
No actual start date yet as I have to go through the medical first

I'm so please for you! I went for an interview myself yesterday but didn't get it
(the other candidate had been doing the job on and off for the past three months so I guess he had a distinct advantage).
Well done Jola!!!
