yes but its not suitible for on here
first job, and also first horrible horrible heartbreak
just thought i would share with you guys that i start my new job at green flag on monday (just a part time thing whilst i'm in the sixth form but the first two weeks are full time, as it's an "intensive training course" so i am sort of excited about that, but also a little bit scared, anyone know anything about call centres and whether i should be scared?
oh yes, and also, i just broke up with my first "proper proper" girlfriend so am whirling in a horrible void of emptyness/emotional distress at the moment guys which also includes (this is the scariest part for me) mood swings (?!?!?!?)
anyone have any advice on either of these things?

Aw Wiggy........
Congrats and good luck for Monday - I'm sure you'll be fine
And huge HUGS to you on your split. Its never an easy thing to go through, time does heal eventually (I know been there loads of times) just keep your head up, keep smiling and it gives you a perfect opportunity to go out and fill your days to keep busy and to take your mind off things.

And don't worry about her, you're too young and pretty to worry about that, just get back on the horse

Congrats on the job Some call centres can be great!! I worked in one, booking stays at Disneyland, for just under a year, and although it had it's bad points the other people were great (with a few exceptions naturally )We all made the most of it and had a laugh. I still keep in contact with a few of them. The bonus of 2 weeks training is that a whole group of you start together and you are all in the same boat and you get to know each other really well.
Never work on a complaint line though cause that really sucks!!

Aww Wiggy *hugs* Sorry to hear about your girlfriend... Not much consolation but I always try to remember that old chestnut "if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be"...
well, it works sometimes
Your new job should help to take your mind of things for a while though? I've never worked in a call centre though so I'm not sure what to advise! All the best anyway

Call centre work is a fab way of funding yourself through College and Uni (I've done Barclays Telephone banking, JD Williams Catalogue order line, Royal Mail postcodes and BT 100 and 999 operator service!!!) They tend to give you hours to suit and its less tiring than working in pubs/nightclubs/warehouses Also generally not scary at all unless you are in a hard sell atmosphere. I loved it.
As for the girlfriend thing. That really sucks. I know how hard that first breakup can be. It took me a year to get over mine after being with they guy for 2 1/2 years. Huge *huggles* and all i can do is repeat what my wonderfully sympathetic mother told me: "It hurts and its gonna hurt for ages. But it'll get better eventually and you'll wonder what all the fuss was about"

Wiggy I know what you're going through my fella broke up with me two months a go now and i still find every day hard. Im sure in time the pain will lessen and to help it im moving. completely. to scotland, i dunno how long for but i have a great friend up there who i know will look after me () and i think that being away from everything that reminds me of him and us will help me alot more.
i hope that your job helps keep you distracted hun and try not to dwell on memories for too long at a time it'll only depress you more and more. there was an email recently that said something like....
"Don't cry because it's over smile because it happened."
i hate that saying right now but hopefully in time I'll be able to do it. right now will also be make or brake for your friends.....after the brake up i learnt who my real friends were.

*hugs* Wiggy, I'm sure everything will be fine. I know it'll seem hard and I can't tell you that you'll forget her completely cause I'd be lying (I think most people remember their first proper bf/gf)
But if you ever need to talk you should be able to catch most of us in the chatroom or msn at some point
As for the job, just enjoy don't get stressed and usually in callcentres you get a chance to laugh with the other operators between calls. And luckily I'm not green flag so I shan't be annoying you

well, i have had my first few days of training now, and i'm having a great time, have met my exact double at green flag, so now have a new mate to boot.
This morning we were doing live calls to proper garages telling them to pick people up. surprisingly nerve-wracking that was, but after the first go, i was loving it.

Yo dude - congrats on the new job - hope all goes well!
And sorry to hear about the heart-break - unfortunatly these things happen - and only time will heal the wound. But it does heal eventually, and then you'll find some one even better and more worth your attention.
Chin up and be positive
