I find it very difficulty just to have music in th background. If it's on in the car it has to be louder. The problem though is when i'm on the phone to my mates and i've got my music on so then my family can't listen in (yes, i'm really that paranoid ) but i find i stop concentrating on the conversation and listen to the music instead which is a real pain!

Since starting to play the bass, i've tuned into the actual music now more - especially the bass. It's been known to have people fnd me muttering to myself about the bass part and how it fits together!

The lyrics still are important but now, i first take notice of the music and then the lyrics.

um anyway i dunno depends on moods, if its like party or i just want somethign fun on then its just the tune but if all deep and thoughtful listen to the words

Well just for background really, especially if I'm pottering around doing the cleaning or something.

Im the kind of girl that mumbles through the verses and belts out the chorus, y'know?

Its not really until someone says "hey have you heard the lyrics to this song?" that I actually sit and listen carefully. Half the time I sing along without paying much attention to the words I'm singing.

Well that's quite a tricky song to understand! The lyrics are very deep and cunningly crafted so you really have to listen to them hard and interpret the meaning behind them. Once you do that you find that what this lyrical genius is saying is that they 'should be so lucky in love'!

This actually came from a conversation Pete waterman had with someone else. the other person (name escapes me) said Kilie wanted a number 1 hit. Waterman replied, she should be so lucky and another hit from the stock, atkin and waterman factory was born.

how sad am i?

i listen to music whilst i'm on the internet, at which point it is just background music, however, i do take in the lyrics this way, and usually find myself singing them the next day or whatever, this is when i find hidden meanings in them.

Also, if i'm walking somewhere, i take my MD player, and really absorb the music whilst i'm doing that.

Music helps me concentrate. If i'm writing, i normally have Ray's portable disc player, my current favourite CD and headphones on and i can write for hours. If i'm ironing, or decorating or whatever, i have to have music playing.. not the radio though, i can't work in silence.

uhh well if i listen whilst on the computer, depending on what i'm doing i sing along and uhh listen to the words hehehe
but i usually pay more attention if i listen to music in my room...
but for the most part, my music is mp3s ^_^ lots and lots....aheh

Me + Kitty absolutely love music. We're into music of pretty much any genre - "if its good, its good" I say, who cares what style it is. We have plenty of CDs/MiniDiscs, but listen to a lot of MP3s now - I love Kazaa!!!

I mainly listen to music for the aural experience, not for lyrics. Sometimes, lyrics even ruin good music I'd say. But lyrics definately have their place, take song's like Hotel California or American Pie for example.

I also like putting together compilations, like "Graham's Eclectic Mix of Chill-Out Tunes" (named by a friend), and my upcoming funkotronic "Poker Night At Si's".

Yeah, compilation tapes rock! Though I prefer them to be made by other people. For my birthday one year a friend of mine made me a compilation tape of assorted stuff, most of which I'd never heard before. It became known as the 'Ginger Tape', and it very quickly became my favourite album.

Yeah I prefer to make compilations with tunes I know my friends haven't got. It would be all to easy to fudge together a load of stuff almagamated from everyones favourite albums, but I like to bring some new music in. Usually I do MiniDiscs as compilations, but now I have a CD-Writer "Poker Night at Si's" will be a CD. Even gonna do a fancy cover for it an everything

I've got about 75% of the tunes for it so far.
