Somehow I don't think they'll be a Leeds next year after all the riots and burning of toilets. Oh well, it was bloody fun this year Pulp were great, I knew they would be - Jarvis Cocker was really funny. I got soooo close to Dave Grohl! That was amazing! But how do you not scream when Dave Grohl is shushing at you? The Strokes were great too, and the Prodigy. Had never heard of the Bellrays before, but they were fantastic. Absolutely covered in bruises now, not to mention cuts from climbing over barbed wire after walking miles in the woods. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY
Leeds and Reading festivals :)
Well I`m back from Leeds all skanky and tired but damn that was fun
So who else went?? did you enjoy it??
I got battered in the mosh pit for the Offspring , i didnt intend to be there but somehow I was and a very nice girl and her boyfriend helped me get out
Loads of good bands and good atmosphere, unfortunatly I got told today that a lad was found dead in his tent on the first day and also the whole last night riot effort got out of hand (but not on our campsite )
DanMilburn- Were you at leeds because if not I saw your clone in the queue in Sainsburys??

i soooo wanted to go. But i couldn't cause i was on holiday. Honestly though, i don't think it would have done me any good, as i'm not well in cramped places especially if it's sunny and hot, i tend to faint and collapse So i don't think i woulda managed it
But i wanna know allllllll about it from people and Eve and Yally - glad you both had a good time (well apart from Eve's Offspring incident)

Readin' rocked! Corny I know, but what ya gonna do?
Highlights? Jimmy Eat World tearing the place apart. Prodigy. Slipknot scaring the bejesus out of the local neighbourhood. Seeing Jane's Addiction and explaining to a bunch of 19 old lads that, yes, I am old enough to have seen Jane's Addiction on the last tour.
And all the rest. Too many to mention, much not suitable for a family friendly site.
So, tell me Leedsers, did GnR blow as much as I thought they would?

Didn't bother to see them, but the guys I was with watched one song and came back very angry, lots of naughty words about how it wasn't really GunsnRoses etc.

Everyone else I spoke to about it thought they were really good, but they all seemed slightly insane.
I was, and yes it was probably me. You should have come and said hello, not like I had anything better to do for the hour I was queueing for.

My weekend was fun, but marred somewhat by the fact that none of the friends I was with were feeling very well, and went home on Sunday afternoon. Which, considering what happened on Sunday night, was a good idea, but I had to stay and watch the Foo Fighters.
Guns'n'Roses - I thought they rocked. They played most of 'Appetite for Destruction', and well, you can't really go wrong there can you? It wasn't really GnR, but they sounded great (apart from the new stuff, which sucks..) and Axl's still a great singer and frontman. 'November Rain' almost had me in tears.
My other favourites - Weezer, A, Pulp, Ash, Foo Fighters. Biggest disappointment - Janes Addiction. Others seemed to think they were ok, but halfway through their set and I was so bored I wandered off to get a decent view of The Breeders on the other stage. Most inadvertantly entertaining - Andrew WK. Hilarious.
omg no! i nearly died! front row all the way through babeh! much thanks to a guy who thought i was from hartlepool and because i was short i should be at the front ^_^ the mind of drunk people eh

it was like amazing, there stood axl rose in front of me: a guy who i worshipped as a small 9yr old child
but yeah, he really was fantastic and i'll never ever forget that performance
*happy happy happy* in fact i don't think i've shut up about it yet, anyone who's asked me about leeds the first thing i manage to get out is WAAAAH axl! or something
anyhow! i'm far too hyper than is good right now so i'll shush about him
ps. buckethead: opinions? personally i thought he was great!
other highlights were definetly pulp! jarivs is a dude! 'slipknot, my favourites! did you get covered in entrails? eh eh?' haha
uhhh who else umm...moldy peaches!!!! how can i forget them, they are so cute adam and kimya awwwh. less than jake were great again hehe i got in the big circle pit thing they had going! great! prodigy as people annoyed the hell out of me with the 'where is leeeeeds!' thing, but they were very good musically the hives and the white stripes were a suprise to me as i didn't really like either of them before hand, but they were amazing live! as were muse!
i think i'm the only person who thought that foo fighters were uhh not so good i jsut don't think they put any effort in to be honest...obviously the favourites went down a treat: everlong, monkey wrench, breakout, learn to fly etc but as for inbetween....:S
and the mosh pit was awful, and i've been in some bad moshpits! it was full of drunk/drugged up idiots, who because they were the last act of the last day decided to kill everyone in the mosh pit heh fun!
and before anyone has a go: i am a foo fighters fan, but i just think that performance could've been so much better!
hmm the riots....i watched for a while, morbid curiosity i suppose...then cowered in my tent for the rest of the night freezing cold and fearing i would be burnt alive. especailly when you hear people running past going 'burn the tents! burn everything! kill the police' etc etc and the far-too-close-for-comfort sounds of explosions and fences being pulled down. at one point a police van stopped outside our tent which was next to a path and there it stayed for about 3 hours with its lights flashing...:/
it was totally mindless and uneccesary and the chances of next year's festival taking place at temple newsham if at all are now very very very much reduced thanks to those idiots. i bet they'll be the first to bitch when it doesn't go ahead too
as for the way the police handled it...hm :/ difficult i know, but i've spoke to a lot of completely innocent people who were confused with being involved.
its sad that we're all now tarred with the same brush
anyway time to shut up now..
LOL, we cheated, we paid at the pharmacy till and you were stood about 4 ft away from me so you may have been among the many giving me and my mate dirty looks

I didnt bother with GnR we could hear them perfectly from the campsite! The lads went and said they were amazing!
Did anyone else see Feeder?? We couldnt get very far in but we danced like loonies and screamed our heads off, especially for Just a day! And New found Glory??? AMAZING!!!!
Riots....hmmm, well our site wasnt too bad, Red R11, so we just enjoyed ourselves but the police helicopter was on the next field for ages, its a shame that people think that sort of stuff is fun when the weekend had gone so well up until then
Spitefulangel- yep i did cower in my tent eventually and was petrified I was going to be burned alive but it was all good in the end and the people round us, though slightly insane did look out for us...ish
I also got kicked in the head by a crowd surfer at Incubus ouch
Oh god yeah, I'd forgotten about him. We went to see him to see how awful he would be and were pleasantly suprised. The music wasn't that good, but he had such a huge grin on his face, it was absolutely adorable! 'Every single person here is my friend!' Bless his cotton socks

Andrew WK. Hilarious.
We were far enough from the riots and fires that we didn't even notice. We'd occasionaally look up and see these massive fires in the distance, they were quite pretty really. Oh, and every time the helicopter we'd yell up at them to bring us more booze, but they weren't listening
Wow sounds like you all had soooo much fun!! I wanted to go but so unpossible coz I'm a bit young. One of my best mate's went, and she brought back her sis New Found Glory pics and augtographs she nearly cried.
I'm so going to the next Reading though, we're already planning it

Well, I wasn't at Leeds, but I saw them last night at the London Arena, and they absolutely ROCKED!!! The band was excellent. Buckethead is an incredible guitarist, and at no point were you left thinking "Hmmm, they need Slash". And Axl is just as good as he ever has been. He still screams superbly!

It was an absolute riot all the way through. They didn't play much new stuff, but what they did sounded promising. And from the opening of Welcome to the Jungle to the closing of Paradise City, there wasn't really much to complain about!
So ner Jayjay! Axl's back!!
Yeah, but you like November Rain. In an unironic way. So ner!
