I think Dan already answered this for me. I'm not even convinced that the last socialist Prime Minister, Wilson, was any better than Blair. Time will tell. I do, however, have a problem with a Labour Prime Minister who continually refuses to repeal the most draconian of Tory anti-Trade Union laws, continues the Tory privatisation plans without learning from their mistakes, won't renationalize the Rail system, is privatizing Hospitals, is reducing rights for Travellers and Asylum Seekers, won't end the House of Lords, and whole bunch besides. He isn't a socialist, he isn't a trade unionist, and he isn't really a Labour Perty Supporter. The Tory comment is light hearted, and in truth he's a radical liberal with a leaning towards free market economics. And most of the party both hate him (for his politics) and admire him (for finally getting us elected).

For most of this government I've been a Blair Appologist, even described myself as Blairite at one point. But it is no longer just a case of what he hasn't done, but what he is doing that offends. PPP is a disaster that could leave us as unelectable as the Tories.

I have been informed that my previous posting caused offence. So here are the apologies: to the hosts at T21 - sorry about the language, I had been under the impression that at the age of 16 I was one of the youngest members of the site; to Jayjay - in making my point I used an ill chosen selection of words:

that cannot be good. On a lighter note my comments do seem to have sparked a long running thread and in response to Jayjay's last comment Wilson was not the last labour prime minister we won the 1992 elections but the Tories showed the same kind of sore losership that Bush did in later years. Although they didn't ask for millions of recounts they just rigged the thing from the start. I may be wrong but from what I know all of this is a high probability.
One last thing: you're right the house of lords does need to be shut down, we shouldn't be privatising the hospitals althougth in most cases I think it is just the N.H.S hiring outside contracters, I really don't know where I stand on the trade union thing and with regards to the rail system where still trying to undo the damage that was down to the tories think of a car - you've got to stop going backwards before you can start going forwards.

Havoc, absolutely no offense taken. I'v had worse ravishings from sheep (to paraphrase someone else). And that's meant nicely, not as a urine-take. Ask Kieran, he says worse things about me as soon as he wakes up...

So no offense, but I never said Wilson was the last Labour Prime Minister, but the last Socialist Prime Minister. And we can't really undo the damage the Tories did to rail before we renationalize it. Also, did I forget to mention the privatization of the Mail in my last post? Naughty me...

But this is about Iraq, right? Erm .. Bush bad, Blair useless, Saddam nasty. Invade Iraq only to give back to the Iraqis, not to the oil barons...

I won't reply in length but I might as well just reaffirm that I agree as I am going to be meeting you this weekend and so any lengthy comments can be made in person.

P.S just reread the post and realised it could be misinterpereted ( that's definatly not spelt right) as me sucking up, i'm not, as you get to know me you will discover this is not something I do.
