Well since you all congratulated me when I got the job, thought I'd post and update you on how it's going.

Started this Monday, dressed up all smart in my suit, and a bundle of nerves. They were soon quashed when I met everyone, and got started.

The first 12 days are all training, and we're switching between taking in information and activities such as role plays and games.

I was dreading the roleplays at first as I'm so shy and scared of talking in front of a group, but the people on my training are great and I'm not so scared anymore.

Some of the information just fries my brain, like learning about the Data Protection Act and all the stuff we'll be doing on the phones, and I've been mentally exhausted, I actually went to be just after 9pm last night!!!

I'm so glad I took the chance and left the scumpit, this place is like a different world. I can wear what I want (cue a shopping spree for smart clothes ), not have a baseball cap on my head. Even the little things are so different like being able to wear jewellery and have my own mug (Buffy one, I'm carrying the Buffy flag here!).

I'm working Monday-Friday until the 4th of November, and after my training (10-430) the shifts will either be 830-430 or 930-530, with paid dinner (another luxury I'm not used to). Weekends are rare, with 1 in 12 Sundays, and if you work a weekend they try and get you 2 days together so you can have a break and a rest from the place (unlike Morrison's "eat, drink, sleep and live Morrisons" actual quote from a trainer!!)

I've seen some people who I went to school with (who I don't like and messed my head up badly) who thought they were better than me, but it just goes to show that they aren't, coz they're in exactly the same position as me now

All in all, I'm happier than I've been in a very long time
