Christmas
Do you think its too early? Already the shops have chroistmas stuff, but i'm getting into the swing of it i love Christmas theres somethnig about it. Night time on the week leading up to Christmas always seems really cool and special. Then on Christmas day its boring. Ok i love the morning when its close family and we exchcnage presents, not jsut for the presents but theres something special there too. Then all the family arrive and it just gets boring, we jsut have dinner then sit there in silence till really late. So this year i'm thinknig of doing something different, you guys got any plans yet?

I only ever liked Christmas for the parties and the pressies
But now I have Georgia we're getting the magic of Christmas brought back - her face last year at seeing her first Christmas was a picture All that shiny stuff and twinkling lights - she thought she was in heaven
Now she'll be nearly two we can really see her excitement
/me goes to to start writing letters to Father Christmas *bounce*

Keeny - After years of Christmases full of obligation and motorway driving, I know how you feel when you have to try and get round the different parent's houses, or arranging times they can come to you without overlapping and accidently being in the same place at the same time. (God forbid :rolleyes
The last straw came about 4 years ago. I spent most of Xmas eve, Xmas day and boxing day on the motorway going between Halifax, Lincoln, Basignstoke and Sheffield. Couldn't have a drink because I was always driving. Didn't really get to see my Christmas tree much (My fave bit of Xmas is the tree), and after the holiday I was so tired. It just wasn't worth it.
After that I told family that I didn't mind going out of my way to see them, but I wasn't prepared to run around every year.
I don't have to deal with all that now with one thing and another, but for me Christmas is a time for close friends and family.
About the getting excited part - yeah I love to get merry about Christmas. Because I'm with kids for most of December, I get to do the kids stuff too - making snowmen out of cardboard tubes and cotton wool, advent calendars and tree decorations, dressing all my class up as shepheds for the nativity and then having to explain what a shepherd is.... yeah its all good stuff.

I LOVE christmas but I get excited about it in like September and everyone just gets sick of me! I walk round with a big stupid grin on my face for weeks before! Christmas eve eve is going to be my friends last gig with his current band so were all going to watch them and get very drunk! I love shopping in Liverpool in the run up to christmas aswell, I love the lights and the huge tree and stuff, i dont like the psycho christmas shoppers though who get really vicious.
P.S i love playing in BHS too

I don't celebrate Christmas, because it's a religious holiday and i'm an athiest.
I do however like to celebrate being given lots of presents

What?! Christmas is about religion?

We usually spend Xmas Eve with hubby's parents, christmas day alone at home and Boxing Day with my "lot"
The problem being that Christmas Day is usually so darn quiet as there's sod all on telly to watch plus the upstairs neighbours spent most of the day playing bloody Oasis and Coldplay which enough to send you insane.
So this year I've decided not to waste a day's holiday Xmas Eve and we'll go to the in-laws on Xmas Day instead (then the neighbours will probably be quiet as mice!)
I'm a very late pressie buyer for my family as I have 3 younger brothers who tend to change their minds every week as to what they want. But I do enjoy walking into Woolies and setting off all the fire-engine and construction vehicles

Desire: Not seeing my family on Christmas Day.. instead i'm having them all round for the afternoon the Sunday before Christmas, and we're having Christmas Afternoon at home with the kids. I'm a lot happier for that.
And we're doing our kids' Christmas Shopping this weekend coming.. the credit card is going to get some serious abuse!
