I've not heard it before. I just hope it's not the abysmal Mad'house!
Dance/Club cover of Boys of Summer?
I think I heard a dance/club cover version of Don Henley's Boys of Summer playing in a shopping mall yesterday. Does anyone know who the performer might be?

The song was re-released about 5 years ago(i think) and got to number 1 in the charts. Was it not jazzed up a bit and a dance remix tacked onto the b-side??
Someones bound to have bought the single..come on own up

<anorak>The single got to No. 12 in the charts, which ironically is where it peaked when originally released in 1985.</anorak>
I know there's a dance/club version of Brian Adams' "Heaven" for which someone deserves pain, torture and badness. If someone has done the same to "Boys of Summer" they need more pain, torture and badness.
Thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou... I've heard that song soooooooo many times over the last few weeks and every time I kept thinking "Who did this originally?" I could sing it, but I couldn't put my finger on it. So thankyou for putting an end my torture. Though I'm rather ashamed that I didn't remember it was Bryan Adams...

That would be someone/some people (delete as applicable) called Kyria, according to this double CD on my desk. Which, somewhat to my surprise also has dance/club versions of Cambodia, Message in a Bottle, Pop Corn, Tubular Bells and Breaking Up Is Hard To Do!

And there I was thinking picking up a random compilation CD would be a good way to explore a pretty much previously unknown *new* music genre...
Get out your red-hot pokers, rubber hoses, pliers, really irritating ring tones etc. From an article I just found:

"For example, DJ Sammy is a male DJ who remixed Don Henley's "Boys of Summer". Not only did he remix it, but he had Marie Jose, a female, sing the lyrics (the duo is otherwise known as Loona)."
