Death is a pretty bog standard thing, happens all the time, always has done. It only seems that alot of actors have died recently because Media is so widespread and into everywhere that we hear about every death.

(Just why have so many talented actors died recently? What the heck is going on? )

Yep, but I'm just a bit frustrated about the loss of great actors recently, such as Desmond Llewelyn (Q in the 007 movies), Spike Milligan, John Thaw (I wasn't a big fan but lots of people were), more recently Richard Harris, James Coburn and of course, Glenn Quinn.
But at least we can still remember them by what they acted in, which is cool.

Glenn Quinn will be sadly missed.
But how come there is now news about this anywhere offical, nothing on the news part of the BBC site?
Rumours of how he died are already spreading

There has apparently been no official confirmation or denial of this as yet. No respected news sites have reported anything. Seems to be mainly fan based sites spreading the news.
It does seem unlikely to be a hoax though.
He will be sadly missed.

Couldn't believe that news when I saw it last
night My condolences to his family and friends. RIP Glenn

I just talked to a friend in New York, she says that his agent has confirmed it, but its still no where offical, not on CNN, Sky, or the BBC, no obituary anywhere except fan sites.
His poor family and friends, and to happen at the holidays too, I will be praying for him and them

This is such sad news.
I always hoped that they'd find some way for him to make a reappearance in Angel.

I had only seen him in Angel but he played a good part really well.
Sad news indeed, he was only a year older than me as well

Noooooo
He was one of my favroutie actors - i stayed up one night just to see him in a film only to find that it didn't show. I thought he was brilliant and now he's....gone. I can't really believe it. My friend and I had planned that when we were about 20, we'd go to L.A. to find his nightclub and hopefully him. My thoughts are with his family of course - god this must be awful for them at this time

Just an additional note..
Glenn Quinn has an obituary and guestbook set up here:
Glenn Quinn Guestbook
where you can leave a message. It's at Legacy.com I assume that they forward the books to relatives at a later date. Posts are not put up directly as obviously they have to be checked for appropriate content first

I've been checking out the WB Talk Forums, specifically the "Angel" one.. according to a newspaper article that someone has posted about on the boards, Glenn died of a suspected drugs overdose, though toxicology results aren't yet back. But there are no suspicious circumstances at this point.
I was really upset to hear about this. It's such a shock. He was a fabulous actor, though i only ever saw him in Roseanne and Angel. He was especially good as Doyle and will be sadley missed.
My prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends.

This is what I wrote in the guestbook/obituaries
I'm so sad Glenn has passed away. He will be missed. He was a true cutie, a brill actor and every fan will miss him. I hope for his family to be content soon, it is a hard thing when someone so close to you is ripped away. I send my condolences and love.

Crikey- this is a genuine shock. You just don't expect anybody under the age of, say, 60 to die with no advance warning. I have to say that the only season 1 Angel I've seen was mucked around by C4 to the point of incomprehensibility, but the number of messages here already shows the impact that he had as a character who was always intended as disposable.
He seems to have achieved what anybody in entertainment strives for- to leave more fans than detractors- and I hope that new fans go on to appreciate his work.
