'Return Of The King' is hate speech! (Parody)
Following on from the stirringly patriotic campaign to rename The Two Towers because of Tolkein's crass insensitivity towards the victims of September 11 (dying a couple of decades before the events is just not an excuse!), another valliant soul has taken it upon themself to do the only honourable thing, and demand a name change to The Return Of The King.
You see, this is obviously defaming the memory of the only true king, Elvis Prestley.

I always associted it with Prince Charles's supporters trying to get the Queen to abdicate in his favour - so obviously it's treasonable

i aint wasting any more thought on this.
What are the benefits to be gained by renaming "The Return of the King" movie to something more appropriate?
There are various benefits, one of them being showing increased sensitivity towards Elvis Presley and those who were so affected by his life and music. The main one however is the fact that it makes us feel very self-important and boosts our egos to no end. We're hoping this will help us get chicks.
Are you an American organization?
Now who else would organize this sort of thing? Well, actually yes and no. While the petition was originally created by an American, ignorant people from around the world have come to agree and are now members of our organization. The fact that none of us has even read any of the Lord of the Rings Books is irrelevant. Besides, we prefer Harry Potter.... which incidentally is another movie series we're thinking of shutting down.
Don't you think that renaming the movie would tarnish JRR Tolkien's works of art?
No, we do not believe this because we're a very closed minded type of organization. Many of our members are actually fans of JRR Tolkien's books, and although they haven't actually read them we think that if Peter Jackson stepped in to rename the movie, it would increase, not decrease, the good things that JRR Tolkien's works have done. Besides even if it does tarnish Tolkien's works of art, we don't care anyway.
Do you people seriously think you'll be successful?
We most certainly do. Several of our members were already successful at making 20th Century Fox delay the movie "Phone Booth" due to the Maryland sniper attacks. We've also stopped several new Disney films in production that just didn't rub us the right way. We're also considering closing down the show "Seasame Street" for reasons we'd rather not get in to.

Note the text at the very top of the page, which reads: "View the page this parody was based on here[link to the Two Towers protest site]" It's not a wind-up, except to whoever created the original, because it's not meant to be taken seriously.
I do like "We're also considering closing down the show "Seasame Street" for reasons we'd rather not get in to." though.

"On top of all of this we're a very controlling organization and really feel the need to impose our will on others. We're seeing a psychologist about this, but it's not helping."
(And yes, it most definately is a parody!)
(And yes, it most definately is a parody!)

okay, didnt spot that but wasn't looking it either.
Re the (ridiculous) attempts to rename the Two Towers, I was reading one of my mum's mags (Bella or Best), and the idiot writer actually called the film "The Lord of the Rings: The Twin Towers". Don't these people employ proof-readers?

Saw this on Tachyon TV (http://www.tachyon-tv.co.uk/news.htm)
This follows reports that President George W. Bush momentarily confused the Middle East with Middle Earth when he accused Saddam Hussein of not declaring his Urak-Hai breeding programme.
