Not sure that my list would be much different, but here goes:
Heroes
Peter Jackson - Took a book that looked unmakeable as a film. Made (so far) a film that was a visual delight, made it work as seperate entities while remaining reasonably faithful to the original text. The man is a genuis.
Michael Moore - Purely for presenting an antidote to the prevailing Bushista world view. Single handedly reaffirmed my faith in Americans for being more than their stereotyped image.
Joss Whedon - For 'Once More With Feeling' alone. By far the best thing to happen on TV this year.
Jimmy Eat World - For being the sound track to this year and being the highlight at the Reading Festival.
Dave Grohl - The man has been involved with Tenacious D, Queens Of The Stone Age, and by far the most amazing Foo Fighters album to date. The man is a legend!
Flowers - For being my evil twin and the bestest mate in the whole wide world!
Villains
George W. Bush - For placing oil before lives. For continuing to allow the issue of Israel and the occupied territories to go on without intervention. For the 'axis of evil'. For refusing to deal with environmental issues. For the nonsense that is 'The War on Terrorism', and the evil this has allowed to go unchecked.
Tony Blair - Not, as his spin doctors would have it, for what he hasn't done, but for what he has. Privatisation of the Tubes, of Education, of Health. For his policies on asylum and travellers. For his cowardise over drugs and sexual freedom. For continuing to support Blunkett. For making me wonder why I should bother voting Labour.
David Blunkett - For being the authoritarian bigot he is, while somehow feeling he should be a member of the Labour party when he would look more at home in the BNP.
The Sun, The Mirror, The News of the World, Daily Mail, Daily Express and The Star - For continually lowering the nations tones and for the long standing efforts and spreading lies and hate.
Saruman - Well, he IS the coolest villain of the year, and if anyone deserves recognition for 'The Ultimate Betrayal', then it's him.
Sugar Babes - For what they did to a great Gary Numan tune.
Pete Waterman - For his continuing crimes against Pop Music and TV.
I think that should do...
