Posted: 08:49 Jan 30 2003 I must admit, i listened to that game and frankly we were shocking and deserved to lose, but we learned our lesson and we haven't (so far) lost since. The pundits are saying Newcastle don't have a shot at the title, but who knows??.. maybe it'll be a three horse race this season and not a two.. if all else fails, there's a Champions' League place to play for

I'm not sure who I want to win that one.
On the one hand I want Man U to win as they'd be easier to beat than Arsenal if we faced them in a later round.
On the other hand though I want Man U to lose... always

Oh well, I guess Crystal Palace will have to knock us out instead... I'd have preferred Liverpool because that would have been less embarrassing. 
As for Beattie for England - Nah. Medium sized fish in little pond. Rotation of Owen, Smith and Rooney seems the obvious choice to me.
And when El Tel goes back to his first love - TV, in the summer, and Strachan comes home, I'm sure the Saints will still continue to do well...

Hmmm, yeah, I'm sure Strachan will want to leave at the moment with Saints on the verge of a European spot, enjoying a good Cup run and playing in a brand new, state of the art stadium
