Having been off work for some time, i can't offer bad job stories, so how about a hug and the memory of my pool playing skills to cheer you up
Get me outta here!
I have been temping in the reception of a pharmaceutical company for 3.5 hours and am already sick fed up of it! All I seem to be doing is fending off cold callers trying to sell media and training products! I don't think I can last with my sanity intact until 6pm, let alone Friday!
Things weren't helped by the agency ringing me at 9am when I was still catching up on my sleep, and having the cheek to ask if I could go in earlier than planned. Hopefully I'll have a proper job soon.
Surely I haven't done anything so terrible in life that I deserve such a cruel fate!
Thank golly I have internet access, and my memories of the T-party to stave off insanity. Can anyone help me keep things in perspective by posting their job horror stories this week?

Sorry. Just that when things start getting really grim around me, I sometimes start wondering if this is retribution for having been a mass murderer or some such in a previous life!
Best wishes for riding this out. Just hold on to that mental image of the comforting weight and heft of the fully loaded pump-action shotgun in your hand. And the twin Glocks stuffed into the small of your back.

The problem with those devices is that they're so impersonal - you just can't get up close and personal in the same way.
Wish I could do something to help but i'll give you a big hug and just remember the job is temporary.
Thanks for the suggestions of carrying weapons - I'm in early again, having been phoned at 8:45am. The guy from the agency called me an angel for helping them out, but at the moment homicidal demon is more like it!
Then, just as I was leaving my flatmate called. She and her parents were in a near fatal car crash on Friday - broken bones, internal bruising and cuts all round. Luckily she and her mum left hospital the next day, but her dad was in surgery for six hours being pinned and plated. Apparently, 2 boy racers hit them full on, and the car was such a wreck the paramedics were surprised anyone was alive. Fortunately, they will all make a full recovery.
It certainly puts my complaints into perspective.

Chugai Pharma, a Japanese owned one, which makes understanding some of the calls and repeating names rather interesting!
Luckily today's been quiet enough for me to make a lot of progress with my application for a place on a Science Communication course. I have to do 3 assignments for it, and have just completed one - using the 'Horrible Science' style to describe why we can't bring a dinosaur to life from ancient DNA.

Are you a celebrity? No? Then you have to stay there
I'm sure that comment makes sense in some dimension DM! I'm too tired to figure it out in this one at the moment though!
