I use www.bargainhost.co.uk to run both my sites (I have one £24 for 2 years and one £50 for 2 years) and have never really had a problem with them. Just checked their site again and it seems they have put up their prices to £49 per year for the basic thing. Maybe I won't be renewing with them.....
Who do you host with?
Yes its a simple question as it sounds
For those that have their own website creations, which companines do you currently use to host sites?
Also which sites would you run a mile from?

I did wonder if you knew - I was checking them last night and they have doubled their costs

i use brinkster, which is free and i don't think i get any adverts as my space.
i got the .co.uk name from 123-reg.co.uk which was about £7 a year (min contract 2years)

I split my site hosting between the webspace I got with my isp (blueyonder.co.uk) from videos, music, etc and for the main pages, photos etc I use fateback.com which is free.
My domains are at ariadomain.com (which apparently also includes free hosting with the domain now, though I've never used it), and 123-reg.co.uk, which is OK though it will only let you buy your domain for a minimum of two years so I'm stuck with one I don't need.
Personally, my opinion would be to run a mile from angelfire, whether it's free hosting or paid, because the bandwidth limits are ridiculous. Same goes for doteasy.com.
If you're going for a free one, try to find one that doesn't put banners or popups all over your site. That's about all, I think.

I host a number of web sites as a result of a part-time web design service. I basically sub-let the server space from FastHosts so I don't have the cost of hardware and lease lines.
I do a "mate's rate" of £30 pa including domain registration if anyone is looking for web space or £10 pa for a sub off ZincProtest like my event pictures if anyone is looking for web space...

I use Freeola.com & Getdotted.com
They use the word "Unlimited" alot
I like that.
And all I have to pay for is the domain name lease.

I'm with VBC/Virtual Chester. They host my domain. I started with them because their technical manager was on the same online service I was and they had a good reputation there. They charge me £100 pa to host domain name and give me CGI/Front Page etc privileges. They're not the cheapest around but they're reliable.
We host our site on 'dangermouse', a system a friend has at an ISP in London. So we dont pay anything for it, its one of those "nudge is good as a wink to a blind man" things
The system goes down for very short periods occasionally, but is usually pretty reliable. Unlike our own website which we've ditched for the moment, except for hosting all the party pics we have.
You can get some very cheap deals thesedays with webhosting, but I cant say what the service would be like.
If you want your site to be able to do fancy stuff (ie run code) then it will typically cost more than plain vanilla web space.
If you're after a host Peg, I may be able to get you an account on DM, otherwise what Rally is offering sounds like a good deal. Just make sure you dont go for any cheapo free thing with pop-up ads!!!! Grrr!!

My brother has finally managed to get us a deal through the company he works for with a client of there's. Its £25 a year with domain and should do exactly what we need

But I shall bear both of you in mind for anything in the future
