But Chris Golden has confirmed in an email to Pooks that, yes, the character is named after Desire. Don't know if the character can cook scones though

i was actually wondering if he'd met the lovely lady couldn't have been totally coincidental. well if he writes a novel basde on the series she can get it personalised special, how cool would that be having the heroine named after you?! that rocks!

I know they've spoken in chat when BuffyUk first got Chris to come in an online chat, and I was there when they spoke at a convention recently. However I'm not privy to any other conversations they might have had.
Still I agree getting a character named after you is pretty cool.
Just for you those I promise that should I ever publish a book I'll have a character named after you. Feeling better with that promise? No? I wonder why not *g*
